I'm realizing just how much my sleep is affecting my temps. I wake up a lot during the day (I work at night). And becuase I'm never sure when I'm going to be able to fall asleep again, I temp every time I get up to go to the bathroom. I'm finding if I temp halfway through the day (about 4 hours of sleep) my temp is high, and if I temp after a full 8 hours of sleep my temp is low. Problem is, I don't always get a full day of sleep. Sometimes I have things to do and sleep only 4 hours. CD 16 for me was one of those. I had a temp rise and thought I had o'd. But this morning, I woke up at 11:30 am and temped 97.85 which would have confirmed that I o'd.. but when i temped again at 4:30 when I usually get up, my temp was 97.08 even after I rechecked it. It's disapointing.... It's making it hard to read my chart becuase of all the temps i'm haivng to discard.

Ugh I'm sorry. I'm having the same problems with getting the right amount of sleep, but it's because I have a 9 week old. I hope you can get enough temps for a good chart. Good luck.

When I was working the midnight to 7 am shift I had to go to Walmart and get room-darkening shades, they are in the isle with the curtain rods. You'll need a cheap second curtain rod and they go under you regular curtains. I also had to shut the phone off because of the telemarketers. On the days you have something to do you're probably sunk, but having it dark might help, and if nothings ringing maybe you'll get some sleep.

Alice, that sucks. However tracking your CM is a more reliable method given your situation. Temping confirms O has happened, whereas CM confirms when you reach fertile phase and then continues on to confirm O. Even if you simply input your CM on your chart alone, you should do just fine

I have problems with broken sleep as well. My four month and 18 month old still wake throughout the night so the max I get it about 4 hours uninterrupted on a good night. Sometimes only 2 hours at a time.
