Well, I came on here the past two days reporting that my temp was 97.7...but, I was wrong...

The way I measure is to put it in right when the alarm rings and I push snooze, then when it beeps, I take it out, and go back to sleep till the snooze goes off (its dark, so I don't even bother reading the thermometer), then I turn on the lights, turn the thermometer back on and then go about my day...

I thought it was weird that I got exactly 97.70 again today, so, I took my temp again later in the morning, and it turns out that when you turn it on - it doesn't go to what the previous temperature was - it actually goes to 97.70 - every time!

Does this make any sense...

Ugh, not only does that mean that all my temps were off, but it also means that I wasted a week of temping thinking that the temp was what it actually was - frustrating!!

What brand is it? Did the package say it was supposed to store the previous temp? I am faithful to BD brand, I had a Walgreens one and it was ok,but I love my BD brand. It beeps while it is working, so I know it is in the right spot and it saves the previous temp.

With my thermometer you have to hold down the power button when you turn it on to see the previous temp. Maybe try that. It is frustrating. And yes......I learned my lesson the hard way too. lol

I'll try that when I get home...I can't believe I didn't even question it when the temp was exactly the same down to the hundredth each day...
Just seems like I wasted a lot of time there...at least I'll do it right tomorrow, and get out of bed earlier too...a win win...

PS-It is a CVS brand

If you can't find a memory on that one try getting one from Walmart. They're $10 with a white body and pink tip. I've had excellent luck with it and it does remember the last temp.

I agree, it's totally worth it to get one that saves the previous temp!

Yep same here, I have the one from Walmart also. I do like you said, temp when the alarm goes off, then turn off the therm. and check it again later to mark my chart. It shows the saved temp for a few seconds and then resets to 97.70.

Finally figured it out...it I hold the button in (for a few seconds) it shows the previous temp...finally have a reading 97.58 for this morning...I actually thought that it would be a lot lower, am surprised! My "normal" day-time temp is 97.9, so am hoping this means that I actually Oed, but the OPK just didn't read it? I don't know...will find out in a few weeks either way
