I need to get a new one and can't remember where I used to order mine from. I'd prefer rapid read with a memory, but I just want a good one!

I don't remember. I am faithful to the BD brand I have never had an issue with any of their thermomters. I got my first one when I took an NFP class through the Couple to Couple League. BD is the brand that is recomended by TCOYF too. You can order them online, which is what I think I did this time. I know when I was in SC and San Antonio I was able to buy them in a store, maybe Ekerds or something.
One thing cool about them is that as you are takig your temp it does a single beep every few seconds so you know it is in the right place.

If they are too fast and your room is cold you will get faulty temps because the thermometer won't heat up enough before it finishes reading.

I ended up ordering a BD one off of drugstore.com, it's hard to find sites that will ship here and I have no patience for ebay. My current one takes two minutes to read, and thats just too long, lol. I also ordered some OPK's since the base seems to have no idea what they are, lol. Hopefully they will get here before AF shows next!

The BD one I have takes about 1 minute or so. My non-BBT (also BD brand) takes about 30 seconds, but the temp always comes out the same.
Our BX sells OPKs. Maybe you can ask them to stock them?

I got the one minute BD that is recommended by TCOYF, figured I couldn't go wrong with that.
I've seen them at the BX at several Army bases, but not here at the NEX. I've requested them numerous times and they still won't get them in, this place is just nuts, they sell out of pregnancy tests ALL the time and rarely stock anything other than digis or blue +/- tests.

For tests the BX is the same digis and blue dye tests. Our commissary though carries FRER, the 2 pack for $8.59! Woohoo, I will be buying some the next time I head over there.
Is your commissary run by DECA like ours are? If so they are more likely to respond to a request to get something in stock. I think they have to have 3-4 requests for an item and then they will start to carry it. So get some of the other wives to put in the request with you.

Ours is run by DeCA as well, but is really bad about requests. There are some that I know multiple people have requested(like ten....an entire group of us requested certain things) and months later they still have no idea as to when they will be in. I'm over it now, I just order anything I need from teh states.

I got mine at Target, and the other one I have I think came from CVS, years ago.
