I decided very quicky to start charting. I had been thinking about it for a while since I have been on BCP and other forms of BC so long, I was so sick of the side effects.

I went to CVS and the ONLY thermometer that they had for BBT was the CVS brand. Is this as accurate as any other brand or is there even a difference?

Thanks.

I've been using my CVS BBT thermometer for 7 cycles now and my only complaint is that it doesn't have a backlight for those winter mornings before the sun comes up.

I think it is just as accurate as other BBT thermometers. As long as you consistently use the same thermometer there shouldn't be a problem because it would be consistently wrong and charting is all about trends not values.

I am fatihful to my BD brand. I own one from Walgreen's I think it is, looks the same as the CVS brand ones and I hate it!

Things I like about BD:
it measures to the tenths and not the hundreths, which makes analyzing charts easier
it beeps one beep every few seconds so you know it is working and is in the right place
it has a light!
it is bigger, so it is easier to hold under your tongue without holding it with your hand

It has BD in its name...what can be better than a thermometer that tells you to BD...hehe

I also used a BD brand over the past year (until I got a BFP, we were trying at that point; we were avoiding for 2 years though and it works!) and love it! Before that I used a brand that came from France that I found at the health food store, it worked okay, but I prefer BD.

I use the Walgreens brand. It has worked well for me for since I got it. Though the backlight doesn't work anymore.

Mine doesn't have a backlight either. I either wait until later to read it, or use my cell phone to read it, lol!
