We use a alternative to down comforter. Not sure why, but it sure is warm!

we also have a down alternative comforter. i love it! its soooo warm!

I used to have an alternative down...but I'd get so hot at night, I'd wake up drenched...
Now, I use a cotton blanket...

Though, I have to say, tonight we are sleeping on the pullout couch...I'm in Florida, and right now, we got the fireplace going and I'm warming my toes - cause it is FREEZING!!!
