okay, so the last two days my OPKs have been darker than they've been. Not positive, but darker. Then today there is barely any line at all. Late last night I had pinching ovulation-type pain. I'm thinking maybe I ovulated last night and the OPKs because of how they were spaced, never read it. So is it possible to completely miss the LH surge, or is ovulation yet to happen? thoughts?

no real temp rise yet, thinking maybe tomorrow it will go up since if I ovulated I think it was really late last night.

Yes, you can miss it. Sometimes the surge happens so fast that unless you're testing twice a day, you can miss it.

But it's also possible that it never quite got positive. Pain is inconclusive by itself, because you can have pain during an ovulation attempt even if the attempt is unsuccessful. The pain can be caused by the follicles in the ovaries being stimulated, even the ovulation process is interrupted and stops before one of them is actually released.

Give it a few days to see if your CM dries up and your temps rise. If they don't, then you know this was just a warm up, not the real thing.

How far apart did you take the tests?

It is very possible to miss your LH surge especially if you only test with OPK's once a day or test once in the morning and once before bed.

I agree that pain is inconclusive b/c I had the most excruciating, what I thought were, ovulation pains on Sunday, but I had a CLEAR AS DAY positive OPK on Monday morning and a big fat temp drop as opposed to temp rise. So obviously it wasnt ovulation pain

I generally test around 2ish every day.

This morning though I had a LOT of ewcm, so I think ovulation is going to happen today or tomorrow

Good luck! I always tested two or three times a day with OPKs, so that I wouldn't miss it. I was also pretty obsessive, lol.
