Okie, so I just started charting yesterday, and my temp was 97.1, and then today, 97.6...and what I wanted t know was, does the temperature of your house affect your body temperature ? Because the other night it was so nice outside we tured the heat off, and then it got cold last night so we turned it back on, could this be the reason for the jump? or is that jump normal? Thanks ladies! I'm new here to charting!

I need a little more information. Could you post a link to your chart. We might be able to give you a little more insite.

here what fertility friend says can affect your temps There are certain factors that can influence your basal body temperature. These should be noted in the notes section of Fertility Friend or checked on the checklist on the data entry page.

These factors will usually not make charting and chart analysis impossible, especially if they occur only rarely, though it may be more challenging. In most cases, even when these factors apply on an ongoing basis, they will not skew your data so much that reading the chart is impossible. It is important to make a note of the factors, however to help with the interpretation of the chart. The following factors may influence your BBT:

* fever
* illness and infections (even those that do not produce a fever)
* cold, sore throat
* drugs and medications
* alcohol (especially in large quantities, though all alcohol consumption should be recorded)
* smoking (if you smoke, you should consider quitting before you are even pregnant)
* emotional stress
* physical stress
* excitement
* sleep disturbances (insomnia, night-waking, upsetting dreams, poor sleep)
* change in waking time
* jet lag
* travel
* change of climate
* use of electric blanket
* change of room temperature
* recently discontinuing birth control pills
* breastfeeding

To get one thats similar to mine, in FF you go to My Account -> Ticker Setup

In FF you go to My Account -> Ticker Setup to get a ticker or you can use one in the Important Topics Chart siggie post (also tells you how to put link your FF chart into your siggie).

You can set up your FF homepage and what you want to display on it by going to My Account ->Home Page Setup

A couple questions for you. Are you temping before you get out of bed each day? And are you temping at the same time? If you are temping after being active you aren't getting a BBT, and temping at different times can throw off you temp pattern.

I do temp before i make any sudden movements....lol. Right before I get out of bed, though the time varies a bit like maybe a 30min difference. So should I just try setting an alarm and temping the exact same time each day? thanks hun!

For some women a half an hour doesn't change much but you should pick a time for FF. Otherwise it will think all your temps are disrupted and it will make your chart harder to read. For me, I could even sleep in a couple hours on the weekend and it didn't make a difference. That being said, it is reccomended that you temp at the same time each day. If your temps seem super jumpy it could be that you sleep with your mouth open, in which case you would have a better pattern if you temp vaginally instead of orally.
