I'm really confused about my chart. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/24a6ad

I think I o'd on CD16 - because that is when I had a dip and then rise, which is what usually happens (I didn't start online charting until last month) but ff switched it today to CD19.

It makes me wonder if my doctor is right and that charting is unreliable for some people - especially people like me who get erratic sleep because of work. I take my temp at the same time every morning, but sometimes I get 8 hours, sometimes just 3 hours. And I think my body is hyper sensitive to any schedule change.

She suggested that I stop temping and only do OPKs. I don't know what to think. Any advice?

I think it looks okay. I wouldn't rely on just opks you can get + opks and not O. and for temping the minimum of sleep before temping is 3hours, and you need to temp at the same time every morning you take your temp.

Some people are unable to get reliable temps, but that doesn't mean tracking your CM is unreliable. If it was, over 3 million people in China wouldn't be able to avoid pregnancy that way with an effectiveness rate of 99%. Maybe it would be a good idea to learn more about how to interpret your CM patterns?

I do chart my cm and I know what is normal for me - and I take my temp at the same time every day. That's why I'm confused, because I think I o'd day 16 or 17 - because of my cm pattern - I always dry up after O and then start up a few days before AF. But, my temps always spike up and down, which is why it's really hard to see on FF - and why I think they could be wrong. I wonder if other people have temps that spike up and down like this/

Can you manually override your O date on FF? If yes i would override it if you think you really O'd on cd 16 or 17

I wouldn't rely solely on OPKs just because of the chance of more than one surge, or missing the surge.

Good luck! Have you thought about trying a fertility monitor?

Do the fertility monitors work? I had read bad things on line about them, but my doctor raved about them and said to use them. (So much so, that DH said "do you work for them?")

I set it to put my O date at day 16. Is it possible to have two temperature dips? I'm so confused about this month.

I think you o'd on cd 16 because of your cm. On FF if you go over to analysis, they is something called temp changer/ manual override. You can override it there and choose you coverline. I do it all the time, because FF never agrees with TCOYF rules.

I think it is CD 16 or 17. FF is just not that great of software. I prefer ovusoft, you can get a version of it free at ivillage.com.

Another thing that might make it easier to read your chart is to get a BBT that doesn't measure to the hundredths, but only to the tenths. Yes, technically the hundredths are more accurate, but chart interpretation is easier with using only the tenths. This is even suggested in the book TCOYF. I use a BD brand thermometer. I don't remember where I bought it but you can get them on-line.
