I have such irregular cycles! It is so frustrating. I have only had four periods since the birth of my son (who was born on 9/5/07!!). This was partly due to my continued BF'ing until 10/28/08, but still...it's annoying! I am currently on CD 50, and no signs of AF! Is there anyone else ut there who has these issues??

I haven't, but there are a handful of women here charting because of irregular periods.

I'm with ya. I have PCOS, so my cycles are very long and irregular. Not TTC at the moment, but I'm currently on CD98, no ovulation yet.

I'm sorry! I know it is so frustrating! Have you talked to your doctor about it?

I have that problem also. I've had some cycles that last well over 100 days. My last cycle was the closest to "normal" I've had since I started charting, it was 48 days.

I have had 60 day cycles, so sometimes I can't even guess when I will O, I just know a few days before when my cm changes....kind of a pain if I'm trying for a specific gender.

CD 98? Wow. Do you chart your temps? I do not currently, but am thinking about it...

Yes, I have. Unfortunately, the only thing that they suggest to help me become regular is the pill. It kinda defeats the purpose. When I got preggers with my son, it was ut of sheer luck. I happened to notice that I might be ovulating, so we BD'd, and voila.

No I don't. I use the Billings Ovulation Method. It's a mucus-only method, so I don't need temps to confirm ovulation. It teaches women to tell the difference between mucus build ups that do not reach a Peak (associated with ovulation) verses ones that do.

I was NTNP for over a year and finally decided I needed to do something about my crazy messed up body. Now we're not TTC for a few cycles while I try to get my body working right again, then we'll if all goes well we will start TTC again in May or so. I'm working with my midwife and using holistic methods to try and fix my issues. I've had blood work, etc. done and it's been determined that my body is just having a hard time recovering from long term use of bc pills. I don't want to discredit your doctor but I would suggest you not take bc pills if you can avoid it. If you're interested in any of the holistic methods I'm using I'd be glad to share. My last cycle was the first one since I started doing these things and I saw a HUGE difference!

I'm going to ditto not taking the pill to regulate your cycle. It's a false regular. All it accomplishes is forcing your period to be regular but can actually make your overall cycle worse. A lot of women do not react well at all to the flood of hormones that are not normally that prevelant in your system.

That sounds interesting....I might like to hear more about it!
As for the Pill, I was on it for @10 years before I went off to get preggers with my son. I originally went on to regulate my cycles (when i was 15). I do not plan to be on the Pill any time soon.
BTW: I STILL HAVE NOT STARTED!! (CD 57!!)

First of all, you should probably have bloodwork done to make sure that you don't have a blood sugar or thyroid problem. I had the bloodwork done and my midwife looked over my charts extensively before we decided what to do. The first thing I did was a liver cleanse, using milk thistle, 3 capsules a day until the whole bottle was gone. This is because the synthetic hormones build up in your liver with long term use. I am also taking cinnamon and chromium daily (for blood sugar), Vitex at 1200 mg daily (to regulate my cycles, best results with long term use-I've been on it consistantly for nearly 4 months now), and using a progesterone cream twice daily (I have estrogen dominance b/c using the pills so long made my body "forget" how to make it's own hormones). You can buy all of these things in a health store, anywhere that sells herbal supplements. In addition to the herbs and prog. cream I'm on a fairly strict diet of almost not carbs (only whole grains and in small amounts), and as little dairy as possible.
It is a lot of work and takes dedication, but I'm determined to make this work. But like I said, you really need to get blood work done to make sure it's not a bigger problem first because if it is then this stuff won't be enough to fix it.

I second Shauna0325 and the other ladies on getting blood work done and on trying holistic methods.
I took BCP for about 9 years, first cycle was 37 days, next was 31, and this one will be about 38 days. I temp and we're NTNP right now. I dont know much about periods after BF so I cant really help you there though.

Yup I have very irregular periods. I haven't had one since January, so my dr gave me Provera to induce it. Do you exercise and eat healthy? My doctor recommended I try that and before giving me any fertility drugs, and I have noticed that my periods become much, much more regular when I'm on my health kicks. I am also going to try chasteberry. HTH

Still no AF (I'm now on CD 65!). I do think that there is hope in sight, though...I am pretty sure that I O'd on Saturday (body signs indicated that). We'll see what happens!
Thanks for all of your input and advice ladies!

Well...she finally arrived!! I was on CD 75, but she was there! I actually knew that I O'd at exactly two weeks prior, so that's a plus I guess.
Just thought that I'd share...I can't wait to get to BBD!
