I have only been using opks for 2 months. I got dark positives both times I oed. This cycle we bd about 6 days before o and the day of o. I wanted to see if the opks went back to white after o, and they did for a few days. Since then they have been getting darker everyday. I think I am on cd22. My cycles are usually very regular, but the past 2 months it seems like I've had a 30 day cycle instead of 28. If I'm in the 2ww and getting dark opks does it mean anything? My period isn't due until either this Friday or next Sunday.

Update: I tested today at 10DPO and it's BFN.
I'm out for this month. I'm trying to decide now whether to start temping instead of opks, or if I should give up completely. My husband wants another child, but doesn't understand that he plays an important part in the process. We probably need to have a talk before I decide anything.

I saw a post on the TTC part of this board where a girl had the same thing happen to her. Her OPK's were coming up positive after O. She ended up being pregnant so I hope that is a good sign cause my OPk's did the same thing.

Yes this happened to me!

I got pos. opks on CD 12 and 13, and i think i Od on CD 14 or cd 15.

On cd 14 and cd 15 my OPKs were negative, so i stopped testing. On cd 17 i noticed EWCM, so we dtd, and on CD 19 i had a big glob of ewcm, and was confused by this. By CD 22 i was stil getting EWCM, and thought this was odd becuase i thought i od on CD14 or 15, which is quite normal for me. So on cd 22 ( what i thought was 8dpo) i took and OPK, it was positive. The next day i took another test and it was so positive, you almost couldnt see the control line anymore, and it continued to do this until cd 27, when i ran out of OPKs. ON cd 29 ( the day AF was due) i got my BFP on a HPT.
I tried testing on CD 11 or 12 ( not sure which one it was) and it was a negative. Even on CD 29 when i took my HPT it was so so light. SO i dont know if the OPKs were picking up the pregnancy hormone, but something was definately going on there.
good luck!

Are the OPKs just getting darker or are they positive? Did your chart show a thermal shift to support that you O'd? OPKs will go positive during pregnancy because they are less sensitive and pick up more hormones than an HPT. However, they get lighter and darker throughout the cycle so it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Keep an eye on them and see what they do. I hope you get that BFP!

I tried another today, and the line is darker. None of them are positive, and they are all still what I would consider faint. I'm just hopefull I guess. I don't want to stress and worry over "symptoms" I may have. The only thing that's been bothering me for sure is sore bbs. That's something I've only had while pregnant, and never had with my period. I'm trying to take a new approach this month and let it happen as it may. I will be ok either way.

Oh, and thank you for your responses. Congrats to everyone that is pregnant! Everybody else, let's stay upbeat in our 2ww.

Thanks! I am going to test on Wednesday. AF isn't due until Friday or Sunday. My last pregnancy I started having symptoms soon after conception. I'm pretty sure it implanted 4dpo from the spotting I had. It ended up being ectopic. This time I haven't had any bleeding or spotting yet, so no early implantation. I have taken an internet cheapie already, but it's just too early. I am scared that I will get a positive because of the past, but I'm so excited that I could be.

I've had doubtless positive OPKs in the past during the 2WW that did not have anything to do with pregnancy since AF showed up. That said, I also didn't have implantation bleeding with any of my pregnancies so that isn't something great to go by. You may have had that the last time because it was ectopic. Hopefully the OPKs are a good sign for you and you do get that BFP.

i just had a m/c and i'm gonna tell you, someone told me that opks pick up hcg too. so when it was time for me to test, i was so chicken to get a bfn. so i took an opk and peed on that first. i thought, if it's negative, i won't believe what that girl told me and i'll hope and wait a couple more days... AND if it's positive, i'll pee on a hpt.

It was positive, the test line was alot darker than the control line. so i got excited and pee'd on an hpt and it was positive!!! now i'm waiting to start ttc again, waiting for all the hcg to leave my body. i tried using opks to see if i was getting ready to O and they are all positive all the time. so there is truth to that theory!!!
