I temp orally with a BBT thermometer from Wally World, $7.

From what I understand, and this is my first month charting, you have to have 3 consecutive hours of sleep for an accurate temp. So waking at 4 and temping at 6 might not be so accurate. I wake up to temp at 6:30 and go back to sleep. I do the same thing about waking up several times in the morning before I'm ready to get up and 6:30 is earlier than I would EVER wake up naturally. lol

So yea, I would recommend you set your alarm to temp earlier, as long as you've gotten 3 straight hours of sleep and try to make it really close to the same time every day.

Good luck!

If 4 am is your normal up and move time, even if you go back to bed, you should be temping then. Set your alarm, temp THEN pee, and then go back to sleep. I have an alarm clock that you can set 2 times on so it was super easy for me. I think I got it at Walmart, and I'm sure I didn't pay more than $20 for it.

I temp orally.

If you are always asleep, not just going to bed, by 12am, then yes, set your alarm for 3am. But, you might want to consider 3:30, 3:45, or 4:00. But for sure, temp earlier next cycle...that is, if you have a next cycle!
