So this month was my first month charting and I thought I would ask the experts what they thought. I don't have my period yet but looking at the temp chart and the date I am assuming its coming. From the looks of my chart I seem to have a short luetella phase. I am wondering now if that might have had something to do with the my miscarriage 2 years ago. I read some stuff online and have starting today am adding B-6 to my diet in hopes of changing this. I don't plan on trying to conceive till August/September of this year so I hope this gives me enough time to see if the vitamin helps and whether this is a regular issue for me or not.

I do have a question about temping though. I know that the best temping is the same time every morning and I have tried to stay within that time frame (within half an hour) but I was wondering if any of these other things might contribute to temp changes, getting out of bed to get the themometer, talking or yawning before temping, having the window open all night...All of these things occured in this month and some I did without thinking about how it would effect my temp so I was curious if they would make a difference in what the themometer recorded. If so I will be concious to try to be even more consistent this next month.

1. Definitely put that thermometer near the bed so that it's the 1st thing you touch BEFORE you even set foot on the floor. I have mine on my nightstand and I usually grab it before I've even opened my eyes! LOL!

2. I'm not sure that a "Good Morning Baby" is going to throw your temp off that much.

3. As for the time of day you temp, make sure you take it about the same time every day, within an hour or so. Just be aware that temps tend to rise about two-tenths of a degree for every hour that you sleep in.

4. As for sleeping with the window open... from what I've read if that's the way you normally sleep, it should be fine.

I really recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It's really informative and breaks down the entire temping, charting, fluid checking system. It's about $24 bucks and a real wealth of information.

Hope this helps...

Try to keep your sleeping conditions as consistent as possible and as long as you're not talking a lot before you temp it should be okay. The more you talk though the more it will affect your temp.

As long as your sleeping conditions are consistent, that's all that matters!! It'll be interesting to see what you chart looks like after you add B6 to your diet.

Good luck!!!
