Hello Ladies

I've been hanging out on ttc/aip but have hopped over here to seek your opinions.

This is my first month charting and so I'm very much the novice (although am picking it up very quickly!).

I wondered if you'd agree with FF which has given me O at CD20. The reason I ask is I was have a LOT of O pain CD18, so much that I had to take painkillers for it for the first time in my life. Although I still felt it after, it eased a LOT to a very vague dull ache. I got the impression that was me O'ing on the night of the 18th (my am BD on the 19th was 7.30am so if I had, hopefully I coulda caught the egg ) but I'm just unsure now.

The thing is CD20 would be better for my chances of conception... but it's another 2days off my DPO count and I'm already constantly thinking about testing, when I can test, when I should test, test, test, test!

So, if you have a spare moment, please take a peek and let me know what you think? Thank you!

You could have O'ed on CD 18 but when you had EWCM on 20 that is when it gave you CD 20 for O day. It could really be either. I hope it was CD 20 because I think it would be better for you What DPO are you planning on testing? I usuually test about 10DPO.

Ovulation pain can happen in the days before ovulation - from the follicles in the ovary being stimulated. It can happen during ovulation - from the ova rupturing through the ovary. And it can happen in the days afterward - from the fallopian tubes contracting to propel the egg towards the uterus. There is no way to know exactly which process is causing the pain, so pain doesn't tell you the exact day ovulation occurred. Mucus and temperatures are more accurate for that. CD20 looks right.

As long as you BD while there is mucus, sperm can live up to 5 days in your body until ovulation. So you definitely covered your bases.

Thanks for your input, Ladies.

I guess because the pain was so acute on CD18, I figured it *had* to be it... but of course, cd20 works better for conception, even though it means I am only a measly 4DPO.

I've fallen asleep twice (thursday & Sat -revised dpo's would be 1dpo and 3dpo) at 5pm exhausted - isn't it a little early for that?! Unless, I have a feeling I haven't been O'ing whist on the mirena (which was removed march 12th) and I'm just super-sensitive to the progesterone from my luteal phase? Eh, I'm over-analyzing everything, I know. I know.

Once again, thank you

Hang in there...I hope this is it for you! I know it's tough to hang in there.

When did you have your Mirena removed?

Thanks for the support, it's so appreciated

swtneka - I'm unsure as to when to test. THe main reason being that although I had very regular periods whilst on the mirena I really don't think I was ovulating too regularly. Before I had it, I would often feel O pain and notice ewcm, in the nine years I had it, it didn't reall occur to me these things didn't happen anymore... In any case, at least with a clear(ish ) O date I will be able to hold out until 10dpo. So... saturday 2nd may, I guess!

Sarah, thank you I had the mirena for nine years and to perfectly honest, I've only just realised this march how much it had adversely affected my life. I had it removed march 12th. My cycle last month made me suspect pregnancy immediately, but looking back I'm quite sure it was an annovulatory cycle and my super sore boobs and nausea were nothing more than estrogen dominance.

To be perfectly honest, as of this evenng I'm caustiously optomistic... I've been having to sleep every day since thursday, today was the worst so far - I went to bed at 10pm, woke at 6 to temp, back to sleep 'til 9. Was up for less than an hour and just ha to go back to bed. Got up at midday. SO came over, then I went for a massage at 2pm... home by 4, was meant to leave again at 5 to go out for the evening but had to cry off, and went BCK TO BED where I slept for another hour and a half! It's seriously like I've got some fatigue/sleeping sickness! I then got my laptop and stayed in bed - I don't have the ooomph to get up. About two hours ago I started getting some cramping in my uterine area. Kinda sharp stabby feelings. And I've noticed some veins at the top of my legs where they meet the hip are BRIGHT blue and popping out, which is unusual.

Of course, my brain instantly thinks 'Could be implanting!' late 5dpo is kinda early, but possible I guess... and my brain instantly backs that up with 'so what, it can still not 'happen' even if that IS what's going on'.

Thanks for listening to me ramble!

Thanks so much for taking the time to look, Ladies

Now here's hoping their pregnancy estimator is also correct because I have 95points (out of 100) at the moment!
