Sometimes I can tell by how I feel but I have found I don't always get that right. I like charting to confirm my instincts.

I noticed that when I ovulate I feel like I am drained or have a really bad cold. my mood is really bad and I feel a general "blah" all over.

only sometimes could I tell. This month I would have had no idea. Last month I just knew, and I wasn't even charting. I was in church and actually had to go to the bathroom because i felt too 'squishy'. When I got home I POAS (opk) and I was right, it was positive.

I don't think I would be able to tell always. I usually get friskier and definitely have other signs but I don't get any ovulation pain. One of my friends got pregnant her first time with only BD once because she had the pains and knew that it was O time.

Nope. My ovulation pain is pretty slight and before I started charting, I never noticed it. Plus, my cycles are always different lengths.

I would know the general time frame based on my CM but I tend to have EWCM for 4 or 5 days before I ovulate. The only way to know the exact day is temping.

No way. I have such long complicated cycles with multiple "warm ups" that don't result in ovulation before I finally do. Each "warm up" produces ovulation symptoms, so without charting I wouldn't know when it was the real thing. YAY FOR CHARTING!

It's very obvious when I ovulate. I have serious Mittelschmirtz. AF came back when DS was about 15 months old after he started sleeping through the night (i.e. no more night nursing) and I knew that I was going to have my period because I had the tell-tale O pains a few weeks before she showed up.
