Hi, welcome to the charting board. The best way to learn is to just start taking your temperature and reading as much as you can on it. You want to buy a basal body temperature thermometer. You can find them at most drug stores or you can order one online at early-pregnancy-tests.com or amazon.com
Then you want to pick a time to wake up to take your temp. You need to take your temperature at the same time every day and you need to stay in bed when you temp.
JM has an article on taking your waking temperature.
Charting Basics: Waking Basal Body Temperatures
Then if you take your temp every day we will help you interpret when you ovulate. You won't know for sure when you ovulate until after your o day passes so you should look for signs that you are close to ovulating like fertile cervical mucous and ovulation pain.
Here is an article on JM about cervical mucous.

FertilityFriend.com also has a lot of great info on charting. I would also agree that if you really want to learn more about charting buy the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It is a great investment.
I hope you will stick around. We will help you figure it out. I learned so much right here on this board.
