I am new to charting temps. I already O'd, but am not sure if I O'd May 31st-June 1st, or June 7th-June 8th. I'm pretty sure it was the later of the two dates. Anyway..I didn't get to temp for all of my cycle and I'm on cycle day 28. My cycle last month was 31 days. So, since I started temping at day 28, or possible 6dpo, what am I supposed to look for? Today my temp was 98.46...but what is a good high temp, or a low temp? What indicates implantation or even pregnancy, or a upcoming visit from AF? I don't have a clue what to look for.

Basically, you shouldn't really be looking for anything much at the moment. If you're starting temping at this stage, it's to 'get into the swing of it' not really for any other reason although you may notice that (if you're not pregnant) you have a temp drop the day before/day of af arriving.
I think it's a really good idea to just get used waking and the first thing you do is temp in order to be used to it when (if!) your new cycle starts. And obviously starting before you start 'for real' helps you understand the process better before you get there. It's difficult to put into words, but if you stick with, you'll see exactly what I mean!
FOr you, temping will be so beneficial as you've had so much confusion over when you O'd... when you temp a complete cycle, you'll pretty know for sure when you O (or infact if you don't and have an anovulatory cycle - it happens, even in perfectly healthy women ) Eventually, with a few months of temping under your belt, you may even be able to see patterns that occur each month that will help you in your quest ttc.
So, right now, just relax and get used to popping a thermometer in your mouth, bleary eyed, first thing upon waking.

Ditto everything Amanda said. Occasionally you pregnant women will get a triphasic chart where their temps go up even higher after implantation but pregnant women don't always get that and and sometimes women get that who aren't pregnant. And your temperature is only relative to your temperatures for that cycle since every woman is different. At this point you should notice that your temps stay at about that range and will only drop before AF comes but we don't really know what constitutes a drop since we do not have pre-o temps to compare it too.

What was your temp like? It won't really tell us anything independently, you need to have several temps to see patterns. Also, you won't really be able to tell too much since you already ovulated but if your temps stay up and don't drop back down it could be a sign that you are pregnant. Like Amanda said, a lot of gals will see a big drop in temp just before AF shows. So, if you chart for a few days and have higher temps and then all of a sudden see a big temp dip, it could mean AF is going to show. On the other hand, if your temps stay up it could mean you are pregnant.

I figured that I couldn't learn much, since I started temping in the middle of my cycle. I wasn't really asking that...although that's what it must have seemed. I just wanted to know how temping works really. Anyway...my temp this morning was 98.46. I will keep doing taking it for this cycle and the following if I'm not preggo. I don't think I am though.

that's a pretty high temp considering we don't know what your baseline is. So I would guess you are post ovulatory as you assumed. At the same time a temp can't tell you much. Many time I was convinced by high temps that i was pregnant and disappointed. I hope you stick around and chart through future cycles so we can walk you through it. It's so nice to have a clear picture right now. Right now you can look for continued high tempatures. If your temp drops by a good .2 degrees or more, you can assume that AF is on her way.

Today my temp was 98.17, but I had to take it at 7am instead of 8:00am because my son woke up and I had to get up. I don't know if that makes a huge difference or not. I've heard that it can. I'm going to set an alarm for 6am from now on so that I can take it at the exact same time everyday. Today I am either 14dpo or 7dpo...I'm not sure because of my confusing O time this month.

If your temp was taken an hour from your temp time it should have an open circle on it. Your chart shows an open circle on Saturday. Did you set your default temperature taking time as 8 am? If you don't know how to set your default temp time click on the link that is right next to where you enter the time when you add a new temp. It says set default.
Also you can use FF's temp adjuster to adjust your temperature if you want. It is under the "data" tab. I don't use the temp corrector myself. I just enter the time it was taken and if it was too long after my regular time FF will make it an open circle. You can also click on the sleep deprived option to make your temp an open circle.
Your temps look really good for post o temps though. Are you sure you don't want to take a test?

I may have set it. I'll go check it out. Thx. I wouldn't know what temps look good and what temps don't. I'm scared to test because I don't want to see the BFN. If I were preggo then when would I have O'd? Would it have been my initial dates of May 31-June 1 which would make me 14dpo, or my later date of June 7th-June 8th which would put me at 7dpo? If it was the earlier date then my test should be positive if I were preggo. If it was the later date then is it possible for my temps to stay up at such a short dpo?

I went and looked at the defult and nothing is set. I all says N/A. I don't know why the circle is on Saturday. Sunday (today) was the day I took my temp an hour early. IDK how to fix it.

Since you weren't charting earlier I couldn't say for sure when you o'd but if you were pregnant it would have had to have been during your earlier estimation in order for you to have a positive now. If you are only 7 dpo you wouldn't get a positive yet but if you were 14 dpo you probably would. I understand if you want to wait a few more days to test.

It looks like it is choosing the second time as your normal temp time and that is why it made the earlier temp an open circle. Go to data and where you enter your time you see default. Pick a default time to take your temp and try to take your temp at that time every day. If you don't take it at the right time, FF will make an open circle for you. If you have a default temp time it will help.

Could me being only 7dpo cause "good" temps? I dont' know what I will do. My AF is due Wed if my O was the end of May beginning of June..so I might wait. I'll go set my defult for 6am...thanks very much!

It is really hard to say. Everyone's chart is different. Also, without knowing what your pre-o temps look like it is really hard to say what is normal for you. Hang in there. You will have a better idea soon.
