I know how the "theory" goes for cervix position: low during non fertile phase, high around ovulation blah blah blah.

What I am asking is: what does YOUR cervix do during different parts of your cycle? Do you notice it going up and down, up and down? Okay, that probably sounds weird, but I am seriously wondering what you have found.

The reason I ask is becuase I've been checking it and it is DEFINITELY moving up. It was low right before and during af (well, I only checked on the last day of af when there was light spotting, it was low for a couple days after, then it went midway.. Today I'd say it is high, I actually can only reach a little bit of it, and not the opening. It is high enough that I can't tell if it is open/closed, soft/firm etc. BUT I am not having fertile cm (actually today I am completely DRY) and my opks are negative, and I have no other signs of O coming in the next couple days.. so why is my cervix moving up???

Just wondering.

Mines pretty useless at 'telling' me anything as it's usually either high or *very* high! Ocassionally it's kinda medium-ish. As I say - useless!

Sometimes you will get the movement before you get EWCM, every woman is different. How long has it been high? I would give it a day or two and see what happens.

its kinda funny, during my fertile stage my cervix is actualy low soft and open, but i chart it as high soft open because that's the only way the software recognises it. After I o, it closes and then retreats up high. Very strange.

maybe you are normal and your is moving up because you're o'ing!

Mine bounces all over the place down there. Although this cycle is the first that it was high soft and open pretty much the whole time I had fertile cm and +OPK's

*giggles* Alice I like the way you make it sound like your cervix comes 'out to play' then hides away again

Mine is all over the place really. The only time it's consistant is when I'm fertile..then it moves up really high and stay high for two days.

I stopped checking my cervix because I found it wasn't helpful to me. It just irritates my cervix and makes me cramp. I also found my cervix position changed throughout the day.

I don't even know how to check my cervix! i try to find it but I don't know if I'm touching it or if it's something else! I just started checking it though so maybe I need time to get to know my anatomy hehe.

Amanda, that is kind of weird! I didn't realize that even could happen lol

Dapgal, yesterday was the first day it was high (haven't checked today) but it was midway for about two days before that, so it is definitely movin' on up. I don't know. I don't see any cm today really either, even though I feel kind of wet. (sorry guys lol)

Alice, that is weird too!

So, do you guys follow the "guidelines" for properly checking your cervix: IE: NOT in the morning, as it tends to always be higher in morning than later on, and at the same relative time of the day, as it does tend to move throughout the day, so the same timeframe gives you a more accurate idea to compare to? Because I think if you don't follow those "rules" it could be confusing for sure.

Arya, I never could find it either. UNTIL I looked at a website. I think it was called "my beautiful cervix. com" or the likes. It was a blog where a woman got her bf to photograph her cervix every day for a month and she posted the pics. It's grafic, let me tell you. If you're squeamish, maybe don't look for it. lol My dh was like, "What. The. F#c!. Is. That?!?!" and I told him and he said, "that's F$c@!ng disgusting! (and he's not one to swear)" Then he said, "THAT is what is inside you???? I don't think I EVER want to have sex again!" hahaha

But anyways. I studied these pics, then went off to the bathroom to search. I actually found it! Oh, and something my dr told me too, was that my cervix was kind of to the left and back a bit. That helped looking there too. (I'm sure not everyone's cervix is EXACTLY in that spot, but I have heard other women say that once they looked "back" and to the left they found it).... Once you find it once or twice, and KNOW what you're looking for, it's easy after that.

Well it is about midway (mmaaaayyyybbbbeee a bit higher), closed and SOFT. Normally I can't tell the difference in texture unless it is quite obviously in one category or the other, but this is soft. I am not sure it has a significance, but there you have it.

I typically check mine in the shower each morning in the same position each time but the weekends aren't at the same time exactly. There would be a little variations depending on the time of day but not too extreme. You said your opening is closed right now, what was it before? And what cycle day are you on? Maybe your cervix just does one part of it at a time. Do you have a chart online?

This is my chart, but nothing exciting is going on yet.

Yesterday it was too high to reach the opening, so I don't know. But it's been closed since the day after the spotting from af stopped. I have never checked throughout a whole cycle, so I do know it goes up really high during O and then back down again, but after i get that confirmation, I tend to stop checking. lol It just seems weird.

Well I think it is good to check it out so you know how to find it. Not really sure why I think it is good to know though... LOL. Just feel around until you find something that feels like this. Image Gallery

Your cervix is really the only thing you are going to bump into so if you feel it that is it. I can feel the little opening on mine. I have had a few kids so mine never really feels closed. Well it did the one time I was pregnant.

So I felt around again this morning and I was able to bump into something! I'm sure it's my cervix but I don't think I was able to feel the opening, I need extensions for my fingers
