I have no idea if I'm entering my cervical fluid on my chart correctly. I guess I just don't understand the descriptions. I'm never dry... never, but it doesn't feel tacky/crumbly etc. I still put "sticky", though. Now it's not exactly creamy or lotiony, but it's different then it was before so I just selected the next one up. It's more slimy than "lotiony" I am on CD 11, is that typically too early to have the start of fertile cf? I didn't expect it to be considered "fertile" for one or two more days. I have always been aware of my cf, but now I'm wondering if my interpretation of it was correct. The options for the description, to me, don't seem anything like it.

I don't check my cervical position, becuase I never find the time. Lately Jonah has been waking around 8:00, which is when I try to get up, so even just taking my temp is pushing it (he still gets a bottle first thing etc) Once he's up, the day is focused on him and housework. I guess it's just finding a time to do it, like at naptime. That would probably clear up some confusion I'm having about the texture of my CM

Are you using Fertility Friend? If so, FF has pretty limited options for describing CM accurately. You just have to go with whatever seems the closest.

CD11 is not too early for fertile CM. Not at all. Ovulation can occur as early as day 5, with CM beginning during menstruation. That's more unusual, but just to give you an idea of the unique nature of each menstrual cycle. There is no such thing as too early or too late for the time of fertility to begin.

BTW, all CM is potentially fertile. If you always have something and are never dry, you probably have an infertile discharge. It takes 3 cycles and an accurate CM record to determine the difference between your infertile discharge and your fertile CM. Until then, you consider it all potentially fertile.

Are you still nursing at all? That can make checking CM completely unreliable.

Shawna, thanks for the information about infertile discharge and CM!

Kristen, I had been expressing milk for bottles and food until a couple of weeks ago (right before AF) when I suddenly had NO milk. I haven't expressed any milk this cycle. I wonder if my hormones are still adjusting and that is what is making it difficult

If you look through my charts you will see my CM pattern seems to be different than most people's. I normally see ewcm several days before I ovulate and don't always see it on the day I actually ovulate. It used to confuse me but I think my patterns are just different. I also agree that breastfeeding can make for wacky cycles and cm. My chart didn't start to look normal until I weaned Lyndsey. But I did get pregnant while I was still nursing so you don't have to wean to get pregnant it just can make your chart harder to read.
