I didn't even know this forum existed.
This is my first month temping. I missed a few temps...one that I think was vital. I manually changed my o date when af didn't show b/c my hubby is in the navy and he wasn't home on cd 23. I got a faint positive on sat (7 dpo) and a bfn yesterday at 8 dpo.

First off, welcome to the charting board. We would love it if you would join us over here. One more chart to stalk!
I think you most likely ovulated on cycle day 23. It is hard to say for sure but your temp was up higher than your six previous temps and your temps have stayed up. Even with the earlier o date it is still pretty early.

Have to say, with the temps that are in place, it does look like cd23 was O day...
I believe it's *possible* (although unlikely) for an egg to be fertilised up to 48 hours after release. The average egg lasts between 12-24hours but, hey, this the human body we're talking about and there are always instances that do not fit the norm.
My advice would be to leave your O date at cd23 for now and if you end up with a bfp you can be one of those of those ladies with a 'Sometimes amazing things happen!' story.
Good luck!

Thanks!
Well hubby has only been here on cd 25-26 and this past weekend. Based on my temps do u think I could be preggo? I still don't know how to read these things and my temp seems to be dropping, but af was due around cd 26-28. AF usually comes around cd 27, but it came on cd 31 last month. If I'm not preggo is af late b/c of late ovulation?

There is always a chance but you luteal phase (from ovulation to AF) is really about the length it should be if you o'd on day 23. The reason AF is late is because you ovulated late.
I think there is a possibility that you could be pregnant but the timing on bding wasn't optimum. Also your temps dropping could be an indicator that AF is going to show soon. I don't mean to be a downer but I also try to be honest with people.
I am sure it is frustrating trying to time things right.

I get it now. I never understood what the luteal phase really was...lol. One more question. Is there a reason why I'm suddenly ovulating late? My cycle was 31 days last month so I'm thinking this may be my new trend, but I'm wondering why. Are there factors that change when you ovulate?

Oh, yes! There are any numbers of factors that can delay ovulation, the most common offenders being stress or illness. But even a new exercise routine or losing weight can do it!
Of course, some women can have stress out the wazoo and be deathly ill but still O on time... the way we're all so similar and yet so unique never fails to amaze me!
Also, without making any assumptions about your age, cycles can change as we get older. And then again some women find their cycles change when they have a child. The good news is if you keep up with the charting you'll be able to see patterns emerge over the next few months that will give you an indication whether this is the 'new you' or if you're just having a few wacky cycles before getting back to your usual pattern (also completely possible!).

Yep what she said. My o date is normally around cycle day 14-15 and sometimes as early as cycle day 12 but this month my body just didn't want to ovulate. I think I might have o'd on day 18-19 which is very late for me but I have had a lot of stress this week. I think stress is a big culprit. There are several of us gals that have ovulated late this month. I guess misery loves company.

Not sure why it re posted my previous post, but i'll use this post to respond...lol
Thanks for the info. I think it may be a combination of stress and just general changes. I've noticed a lot of changes within my body since I turned 24. I'm not sure if our bodies go through a lot of changes in our mid-twenties, but mine sure is.

It is possible that you ovulated later than what it shows but we are missing those temperatures so you really never know. And the temp drop could be AF coming but it isn't that low that I would say that for sure. You can keep on testing or just wait and see what happens.
And thank to you and your family for serving out country.
