Jess, I would be
soooooooo temped to reply to those comments thus:
Oh, yes, Jonah is actually a cloned baby.
Say it sincerely. Then watch their faces and amazement befor eyou say 'I'm joking, of course he isn't!' and let them feel silly for thinking/saying such a thing.
Grrr. I know I don't know the circumstances and it may have been close family members/close friends teasing you in that 'mean' way that's acceptable when you're close (at least here in te uk it is... we're probably mean only to people we really like and are horribly polite to everyone else

) but I just think new mothers are often vulnerable and anyone saying somethng like that can be like kicking someone when they're down.
I found all the constant 'She looks JUST like you as a baby' 'She looks JUST like dh as a baby' so irritating and just wanted to say 'actually, she looks like herself'. But I'm British and just smiled instead. If someone had suggested she looked like I'd had nothing to do with the process after nurturing her for nine months and then popping her out I think I'd have flipped out! And... blamed it on the hormones. But, seriously, I'm getting worked up that people said that to you! New mothers,
especially first time mothers, need support - not that kind of insensitivity.
Ok, breath Amanda.
Soooo... to answer Patty's question. I reckon at the very least the baby would have brown eyes. I have blue/green/grey (different people think different colours!) eyes and my ex-dh had brown eyes. Both our kids have brown eyes even though I desperately wished for a light eyed child. This time, my SO has.... dun Dun DUN: brown eyes. D'oh. Watch it happen to me again considering brown is the dominant gene when it comes to eye colour.
Still wishing for a light eyed baby though
