For me OPK's followed by temp shift. I don't always get a huge dip on O day and the temp rise comes too late (good for determining if you did O or not, though). And I don't always have EWCM on O day - sometimes it's just watery and the EWCM is the day or two before.

I'm pretty lucky in that my body is quite compliant with making ewcm for a good few days before I O... so I don't really need to buy/use opks. I love to see the thermal shift that confirms O and takes the 'catch the eggy' mentality out of bd'ing for me (SO doesn't have it of course because as far as he's concerned we're ntnp!!).

So... I'm gonna say CM. Followed by temp. OPK's aren't even on my radar!

What is BOM style??

I couldn't pick just one; I think that all of them work together, and if I had to use only one it would be pretty useless. For me, it's kind of like asking which is most important on a baseball team- pitcher, first baseman or short stop. You need ALL of them or the game doesn't really work

I like paying attention to all of the factors. The temp rise is that final confirmation that things went as planned though.

This is only my 2nd cycle using OPK's so, there's that.

Basically, I go by the proponderance of evidence. Cervical fluid, position, OPK, temp drop, saliva ferning... the whole shebang. Then I total it all up and see what's what.

Actually, according to all of those things, I'm so fertile at this moment it's ridiculous!! WHY DOES DH HAVE TO BE AT WORK RIGHT NOW?!?!? ACK! LOL!!!

BOM = Billings Ovulation Method

THE BILLINGS OVLATION METHOD - Scientifically proven only entirely natural family planning method of achieving or postponing pregnancy - simple, effective (98.5% W.H.O.) healthy, costfree and culturally acceptable

Billings Ovulation Method. It's a system that gets more in depth with the CM, so you can go by that alone. When they were first developing the BOM they used temps too, but dropped them after awhile because they discovered that the CM patterns revealed everything they needed to know anyway. What you learn about CM from FF or TCOYF is like CM kindergarten, the basics. That's why temps are needed too, that amount of information is not enough to go by CM alone. What you learn with BOM (or the Creighton Model) is like CM university, so the temps aren't needed.

Just a different system of charing CM, that's all.

saliva ferning...
I was going through some things at my parents' house last week and found a small microscope so I'm thinking of trying that as well this cycle - if anything it will be interesting to see the differences.

Temp shift. Sometimes I didn't always get a + opk and because I was on clomid, my cm was sometimes dry but my temp shifts never let me down.
