Hi everybody!!I have never paid any attention to fertility charting until now. We have 2 girls already and one surro baby. I've had no probs getting preggo, but now we're actually planning! I'm so excited! So, here's my issue: I just stopped taking low estrogen birth control about a week and a half ago. I started my period on the 23rd. (Well, I was cramping the previous night, so I don't know...) Should I use the 23rd for the first day of my last period on ovulation charts?? I have and it says to start trying July 2nd. DH really wants a boy, so, according to that chart, we should try the 4th and 5th. Any advice about any of this would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

I really admire you for being a surrogate mother. What an amazing, selfless gift.

DH and I want a girl, but after reading the book "How to Choose the Gender of Your Baby" I wondered if we would be able to get pregnant with those methods. It said to have intercourse four days before ovulation, and then not again until the next cycle.

After the day is done, it really is still just a theory and isn't proven one way or the other. It made more sense to DH and me to have intercourse closer to the time of ovulation. It just didn't make sense to do it when I'm "kinda" fertile, and hope for the "girl" sperm to live long enough to fertilize the egg KWIM?

In your case for a boy, I'd be afraid to miss my ovulation day.

The idea of swaying is interesting, but I'm a bit leary of it personally. JMO, I know a lot of women on JM have used it and achieved the gender they were hoping for.

As for the dates, those calendars usually go by when women are statistically the most fertile and may not be entirely accurate. You'll want to look to your own body for when you are actually fertile.

Oh and welcome This is my first cycle to be here as well.GL!

Thank you! Being a surrogate mom was so awesome!! I got to help a couple finally hold their baby in their arms!! Such an amazing journey! As far a =s gender, I totally don't care. In fact, I am leaning more towards a girl just because I've never had a boy. But I will love any baby that we are given!! I'm scared to miss O too ,so I'm scared to wait to BD. <----I learned something! Heehee! Plus, I have no clue when I'll be O-ing this month because I just quit birth control and just ended my period. ???

Meg, you are so cute with the bd note. I posted to your other thread. I really think you should follow your fertile signs and not a calendar, especially since you just came off of bcp. I would wait until you are seeing egg white looking CM and/or having ovulation pain to start bding. I would also suggest using OPKs (ovulation prediction tests). That will help you to figure out when you are close to ovulating.
