Hi everybody!!I have never paid any attention to fertility charting until now. We have 2 girls already and one surro baby. I've had no probs getting preggo, but now we're actually planning! I'm so excited! So, here's my issue: I just stopped taking low estrogen birth control about a week and a half ago. I started my period on the 23rd. (Well, I was cramping the previous night, so I don't know...) Should I use the 23rd for the first day of my last period on ovulation charts?? I have and it says to start trying July 2nd. DH really wants a boy, so, according to that chart, we should try the 4th and 5th. Any advice about any of this would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

If you want to try for a particular gender, it will be more accurate to go by your actual signs of fertility rather than a calender prediction. Recovery from the hormones in the Pill can make things a bit irregular PLUS the fact that every cycle is unique means a calender prediction could be a little off or WAY off. Your body will tell you when you're fertile.

To try for a boy, you want to time BDing as close to ovulation as possible. So track your CM. When you notice CM and if it makes you feel wet, WAIT. Wait until the CM gives you a slippery feeling, then start BDing.

Hi! I just answered in your other thread

BDing stands for bed dancing. a quicker way to say having intercourse when typing

CM is cervical mucous. I forget what other acronyms were in the post, and I can't go back and see. Hope that helps

Try this honey, here's a list of lots of the TTC acronyms:

Hopefully that will help you find your way around some of the terminology

Hi Meg. Shawna has some good information. If you just came off the bcp recently it may take you a cycle or two to start having regular cycles. You will probably want to follow Shawna's advice and try to use your fertile signs as a guide.

JM has an article on Trying to get Pregnant after Birth Control that also has some good info.
