My Basal Body Thermometer is gone. I keep it in the drawer next to my bed, and it's totally not there. One of my children must have gotten it out at some point throughout the day. I told my husband that I am going to have to buy another one...I've looked over and over again, everywhere, and I can't find it. His response was "Why are you wasting money on these stupid things?" (Refering to OPK's and the thermometer) " You really don't need to spend money on this crap Kody." He thinks that using these items, charting and temping is just a waste of time. He thinks we got pregnant without these methods, three times before, and doesn't understand why I am using these things and practicing these methods. He thinks it's silly. So, basically, he doesn't want me to buy another thermometer and he doesn't want me to chart or use OPK's either. So...just as I began charting my temps...I am done.

I started crying! I told him that it may be stupid to him, but to me, it's very important. So he caved and told me he was sorry and that I could pick a new one up tomorrow. Now I just have to figure out what to put for my morning temp tomorrow. I won't have the thermometer tomorrow morning.

Yeah, I'll second the "stuff it" comment. That'd be the day dh tried to tell me I COULDNT buy something.. especially something so cheap as a thermometer! But I tend to get a little pissy when people tell me I CANT or HAVE TO do something.. I'm not proud of it, just sayin'..
I'm really sorry it's missing though. I've learned the hard way to put it on the shelf above my closet, and under something, so my kids don't see it/take it. Hope it shows up!
Oh, just read your update. I'm glad you're getting one! As for your temp, leave it blank, one missing temp is not a big deal, especially since you just finished af and aren't likely o'ing RIGHT now, kwim?

Guys don't understand this at all. Their body doesn't go through the complex cycle every month, so they have no idea what it is like to not know what is going on in there, or the need to understand it. Maybe that's harsh of me to blame ALL guys for it, but I think it's true. Even the supportive patners don't really "get" what it is like to finally know certain things about our body. KWIM?
I'm glad that he saw how important it is to you and let you get the thermometer.

Oh honey I'm sorry he reacted that way, the ladies are right that a lot of guys really don;t get TTC in the same way as us. Their role in the process is over quickly compared to us! We have to wait for AF to finish, wait to O and then wait to test, and if AF arrives the whole thing just goes round and round again!
Did your old BBT ever turn up?! It would be typical if it reappeared just after you buy a new one!
I agree that leaving one temp blank won't harm your chart very much at all. You can always leave yourselfg a note on your chart to remind yourself why it's missing if you like x

I think men are just like that. They don't get how women feel about ttc and they also don't understand how women's bodies work. They think you just bd and it happens and really don't get how important timing is. My dh is probably more educated on ttc than a lot of guys because he has had to suffer through my long explanations but really he still doesn't get it. I have to reexplain things all the time.
And as for him telling me not to be ttc supplies, well I spend (or waste, however you want to look at it) probably a whole lot more than you do on ttc stuff. He stays out of my way. I act like a psycho without my supplies and I think he tries to avoid my nasty moods as much as possible. If my thermometer goes missing everyone in the house hears about it. LMBO. I try to keep two around just in case one gets lost.

I didn't have time to get my new thermometer today. I had a birthday party for a friends child, and my daughter also had her birthday today. She turned 4! So, I'll have to go and get my new one tomorrow. I really hope this doesn't mess my chart up!!! AAGGHH!!

I don't think it should mess your chart up to much since you are still very early in your cycle. When do you usually O?
