Well, the easiest way would be to work with a charting instructor. That way you can learn to interpret your mucus patterns correctly. Every woman's CM patterns are unique to her, so that's why having a teacher is handy - she would help you figure out what's actually fertile for you and what isn't. There are live classes and online courses you can take.
Some women have infertile discharge all the time. This is VERY common on the Pill and for awhile after wards, because the Pill causes chemical damage to the parts of the cervix where mucus is produced...resulting in less of the good quality CM and more of the infertile discharge. To tell the difference, you simply need to keep a daily record of your observations. Don't rely on FF for that part though, it doesn't have enough mucus options in it's menu. If you use FF to temp, you can write down your observations in more detail for a better mucus record. After 2 -4 weeks of charting, you can figure out what's fertile for you and what isn't.
