I temped and charted for my first two babies and but have not "officially" charted during this ttc time. However, as you all must be, I am pretty aware of the rhythm of how things go in my own body: I "O" on cd 13, AF shows after cd 27. Thats how it always has gone. Last cycle I was shocked to have a bfp on 14 dpo/ cd 27, followed by bfns and lower temps for cd 28-32. (The online consensue was a chemical pg) I never have cd32.... This time, I took a hpt on 13dpo/ cd 26 and got bfn-- as expected, I had the announcement zit on my face declaring af's imminant arrival. But now I'm cd30 and my temp is 98.4 (high and level) instead of 97.9 where I would expect it---and AF is not here. I thought I had this whole thing under control. Could I have a longer cycle now that I'm a few years older? Should I test or wait until cd32, like last cycle?

I think you very well could be having less regular cycles because of being older and/or having had a few kids. My cycles used to always be exactly 28 days. Now, who knows. They are still pretty regular but some months they are as short as 24 days and other months as long as 32-33 days. This is one of the big reasons I chart. I kind of have instincts about when I will ovulate but I find that I always think I am going to ovulate earlier in my cycle than I actually do.

Welcome over to the charting board. If you decide you would like to start charting again we would love to have you join in. We need some more experienced charters on the board!
