Do you take vitamins while TTC? Do you take any special vitamins, or extra vitamins while TTC, or do you just continue to take your normal vitamins?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't usually take vitamins, but when I found out that I was pregnant with Jonah I started taking two flinstones a day. I usually try to get the vitamins that I need from food, but when I saw what all I *should* be taking in while pregnant, I tried to devise a menu and it was A LOT of food, so I got a little help from Fred and Wilma LOL.Then after Jonah was born I breastfed, so I continued to take vitamins, but opted for the more grown-up Viactiv. I took one of the viactiv multivitamins with lunch, and one of the calcium with dinner. I like them a lot because they are chocolate and caramel, but they are vitamins! We started TTC while I was breastfeeding, and when Jonah self-weaned from the breast early I figured I should continue taking it. So now apparantly they don't make the chocolate multivitamin, only the caramel calcium, so I got a gummy multivitamin. I really like the vitamins that taste like candy- it makes me remember to take them LOL
I try to take a regular prenatal vitamin (it is over the counter) but I can't say I always remember.
I take a complete multivitamin/mineral that also has probiotcs and stuff like co-enzyme q-10 in it  Additionally I take a high dose b vit every day (so that covers the recommended dose of folic acid that is suggested when ttc).
I really need to start taking vitamins. I bought an OTC Women's One-A-Day, but for some reason I ALWAYS forget to take one. And then when I remember, I think of things like, "Is this natural? Can it hurt me in any way? Will it affect TTC?" I know that vitamins are good for you, but growing up the way I did, I'm always a little nervous about cheating nature (hence why I have never been and will never be on BCP). They're silly questions, I know, but ehh.... If you ladies say it's all right, I'll try to remember more often.
I take Centrum Women's One-a-Day, an OTC folic acid supplement & my Omega-3 complex. Heart disease runs in my family, so I added the Omegas in before I got preggo with Ethan. I told me OB that I was taking them & she said "Outstanding!! Take them the whole pregnancy and while you're BFing." I actually had to get one of those days of the week pill boxes to remember! I started it during my pregnancy; I was absent-minded before & being baby-brain made it even worse.
I take a prenatal, Materna. It's amazing how much stuff that are not vitamins this pill has! I think when I finish this bottle I will look for a natural, organic prenatal with no added chemicals.
Yep, I take a daily multi. It has everything. Next time I go out, I'm gonna get prenatals, though.
