Robitussin helps to thin out mucus. Just like when you have a cold/cough... you take cough medicine to break up the mucus so that you can get it out. Well, Robitussin doesn't care whether the mucus is in your lungs or in your... ahem... nether regions. It still breaks up the mucus. It's been found to be helpful in regards to TTC for women who do not produce Egg White Cervical Mucus or EWCM, naturally.
I had read about it but hadn't tried it until this month. I was taking Evening Primrose Oil, which is also said to help women create EWCM. I stopped using it because it can cause uterine contractions... and we think we had a very early chemical pregnancy in April, so I just wasn't comfortable taking something that can cause contractions, even though you stop taking it after you O... and I wasn't seeing any results anyway.
A few of the girls recommended that I try the Robitussin and see how that went. A few others said they tried it and it didn't do anything for them. I decided to give it a shot and I'm really glad I did... because I only started taking it on CD 9 and I had EWCM by CD 14. That was the only change I made to my monthly regimen... so it seems pretty clear to me.
