Hey, everyone. My name is Catherine. I've been more of a lurker around JM. I decided to post because I have heard so many different answers. I am on CD 34, supposedly 19 DPO. FF insists that I O'd on CD 15. But at 3 DPO and 5 DPO I had a drop under the coverline. I have been told by some I did O on CD 15, others on CD 20, and by others that I haven't O'd at all. My fertile CM stopped on CD 16, and since I've only had a BUNCH of creamy/lotiony CM. I have been hungry, grumpy, peeing a lot, some mild head aches, crazy sore breasts, constipation (except for one day of diarrhea), fatigue, some bloating (but not a lot), gassy, and oilier skin than usual. My usual luteal phase is always 14 days. I do think that I O'd--I know I've had some temps that are out of whack, but if you look at the average, I do see a little bit of a thermal shift. I tested yesterday and got a BFN. I'm thinking about testing Friday or Saturday, but I'm not sure about that (I'm sick of BFNs).
What do you think about my chart? Did I O?

Catherine have you ever been diagnosed with PCOS? I cannot see a clear shift on most of your charts. I am going to see if I can track Shawna down because she has PCOS and is better at interpreting complicated charts. I do not think you have ovulated yet.

I never have been diagnosed with it, but if I'm not mistaken, wouldn't that explain why up until I had sex the first time, whenever I would O, I would have horrible pain (I know some people do feel cramps around the time of O, but this was worse than even AF cramps--it would literally make me double over).

I am trying to get the gals from the PCOS board to pop over and take a look too. I believe that painful ovulation is a symptom but I need to go do some more reading.

Normally I'm over on the PCOS board but I saw that patty asked us to come look and I just wanted to toss this in here: Don't worry too much about unclear shifts... Mine always does the same thing and you can quite clearly see that I ovulated. ;-)

Popping in from the PCOS board - Your temps are pretty erratic, which does seem to be common on some PCOS charts, but can also be a result of temping practices, so that alone wouldn’t mean PCOS. The 2/24 chart is the only one I see a clear thermal shift on, but that doesn’t mean the others are wrong though I’d highly doubt the ones with really long LPs especially (35 days)- I’m just not the best at reading complicated charts. The sore breasts, for me at least, would suggest ovulation and I do see a bit of a shift on your current chart, but again I’m not the best at interpreting charts and I agree that it does look that you possibly did not ovulate.

My personal opinion/suggestion would be heading into your doctor for a blood test - check progesterone and see if you did ovulate. Your cycles are irregular, long, and some seem to be anovulatory so I think that is something you should bring up to your doctor as well. Also, I’m not sure how the monitors work but seeing that you had high readings for as long as you do, I’d bring that up, too. With PCOS some women will have elevated levels of LH, giving multiple positive OPKs (without ovulating) - I’ve never used a fertility monitor so maybe someone more familiar with those could have an answer as to if a high reading for 19 days is normal or not.

I’ve never really had painful ovulation except once (and it hurt) but then I’ve only been dealing with symptoms since Feb ‘08. If it is PCOS, its scary at first and I hope all this isn‘t scaring you - Other than my own personal experiences and “research” I have no real authority on the matter, but at least its an answer and you can start working with your dr toward your BFP, though getting pregnant on your own is still possible. And if its not PCOS, yay!

Good luck and I hope my rambling helped a little

eta - you seem to have a lot of 38 day cycles and even on the one with the 35 day "LP" it actually looks like you might have ovulated later than FF is saying - it looks that way on another, too... so maybe you're just ovulating late sometimes instead of not at all (still would bring it up). I don't think you can say from your charts that it is PCOS but I'd print them out and bring them to your doctor.
Do you have any other symptoms?

A lot of my charts were anovulatory---nothing new for me. The miscarriage in September screwed everything up. If nothing by Saturday, I guess I have no choice but dr. :-( thnx for so many replies

Popping in from the TTC w/PCOS board also! Sorry your cycles are giving you so much trouble. The other ladies seem to have covered everything I came over to say, but I wanted to wish you luck and I hope that you are able to get some answers, and a sticky bean soon!
