Okay I started spotting, do I count today as cd1? I normally just wake up in the morning and AF is in full force...never had spotting before.

that's a great question....i was the same way until the past 2 months when I had spotting. I have read many places that CD1 is the first day of "real" AF...not spotting. would be interested to hear others opinions too!

Ditto. I usually consider it spotting unless it is more than that. If it is a light red flow then I would call it AF. If not, if it is just when you wipe I would call it spotting.

I count CD1 as the first day of actual flow (pink/red and I have to wear a tampon). If it's just brown (or sometimes even pink) spotting, but only when I wipe and not enough to require a tampon, I don't count it.
