Hi guys!! I just took an at home ovulation test and there was a very faint line. I am on Day 10 of my first cycle and my temp dropped from 97.0 to 96.9. What does this all mean? I am such a newbie!! ;0) Thank you!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, and I had cramps earlier on my left side. Could that be O pain?? I am so curious!

I wouldn't read anything into your temp at this early stage in your cycle. Fluctuations pre-ov are pretty normal.

As for the OPK, a faint line is a negative. The only positive on an OPK is when the Test line is darker or the same color as the Control line. You will almost always see two lines, because you always have some LH in your system. You are trying to detect the surge in LH, and that shows up by the Test line becoming darker or the same as the Control line.

Hope that helps!!

Meg, do you have a link to your chart. I would love to look at it. The temp drop could mean that you are close to ovulating or it could just be regular fluctuations that you see during the pre-o stage. If you are getting a negative opk I am inclined to say that you are not close to ovulating yet.

I tried the smiley face opks and what I don't like about them is you really can't tell if you are getting close to ovulating. For me, when I use opks they tend to get a little darker each day until I get my surge. So I can tell that I am going to get a positive soon because they start to get a little darker. But, the smilies are good because you don't have to guess.

As for cm, I usually see egg white looking cm a few days before I ovulate. Everyone's patterns are slightly different but you should be seeing fertile eggwhite which is stretchy and clear close to the time you ovulate.

Does that work? I messed up my temp today. I walked out to the living room and back and then took it and it was up from yesterday. I know you're supposed to take it right when you wake up before moving around. Should I just skip today's temp?? CM is nothing much right now. The day before yesterday, it was kinda lotiony, but I don't know. I'll keep checking the next few days. WISH ME LUCK!!!!
