Instead of Googling this and getting a bazillion different answers which I don't feel like sorting through, I figured I'd once again ask you ladies who have the first-hand experience at temping!

What are your temps generally like during and directly after AF? I took my first temp on CD7, which was one day after I had stopped spotting from AF. I'm pretty sure that I temped right (as soon as I woke up), and it was 98.0 degrees F. On CD8, it dropped to 97.6, then CD9 to 97.4, and now I'm back up to almost 98.0 with 97.9 degrees F, CD10. I'm thinking this dip is from ovulation (yesterday I had EWCM with pink mucus that I believe is O-spotting), but then I had to wonder, what is it a dip from? Do temps stay high during and directly after AF?

It's normal to have crazy temps during AF. They should settle down after it's done.

Are your cycles really short? Because I don't think you should be ovulating around day 10 if your cycles are not very short. It would help to see a picture though, do you chart on FF?

I agree. I think it is pretty normal to have higher and more erratic temps during AF. Usually you will see them drop down much lower right before you ovulate. I think it is pretty early to have ovulated so I think you will probably see your temps go down a bit lower first. The CM makes me think you are getting closer to ovulating though. I would love to see your chart as well if you can post a link.

I haven't actually starting an online chart yet, but now I guess I will! lol. It wouldn't be that strange for me to O this early, as my cycles have been 23, 24, and 25 days longs. But my temp was lower again today (97.3), so maybe I'm just getting ready to O, and the O-spotting was just the pre-O stuff. lol

I dont' temp during AF, because my temps are still high from the progesterone secreted during my LP. The temps don't usually come down until the a couple days after AF. (I think it has something to do with estrogen or whatever). They typically get lower and lower until you O and then they spike up.
