Your ovulation/bding goals

How much bding do you like to have before you ovulate? What I mean is do you feel like if you don't bd a certain number of times your chances will not be as good?

I like to bd on every possible fertile day but that doesn't usually happen. (Maybe five days) This month I want to do good. I feel like if we keep timing things well I am bound to get pregnant eventually.

Like you, I would like to BD on every fertile day and then maybe twice a day on the day before and of O, that would make me feel awesome about my chances. But realistically it winds up being about every other day. But it's just the luck of the draw (LOL) when I got pregnant last October we BD'd once in a 3 week period, I figured I was out for that month because it was so infrequent so I didn;t pay attention to my cycle for the rest of the month, imagine my surprise when I woke up one morning and realized I was a couple days late and my bbs hurt so bad it felt like someone had used them for a punching bag!

I would like to BD twice on O day and a day or two before it (I know they say you can get pregnant from sex up to 5 days before O, but I think that's pretty rare and I'd rather BD closer to O).

But having said that, it almost never happens mainly because I don't think BF even knows what ovulation is (I'm sure he thinks that any time we have sex it could lead to pregnancy). And because his work is pretty physical (he's a material handler in a battery factory), he's typically tired during the week and only really wants to BD on the weekends. So if I O during the week, I fell like I'm pretty much out of luck unless I can coerce him into BDing.

I should have a talk with him, but I really just haven't wanted to go into depth explaining female reproductive cycles and I'm not sure I want to let him in on the extent that I've been going to in order to find out when I'm fertile (and the fact that I've been doing it w/o him knowing). But I've been off B/C for 6 months now and haven't gotten pregnant and I think he's starting to think that one of us isn't fertile (he kind of jokes about it sometimes), but really, at this point, I think it's just because we haven't gotten the timing right. So I think that talk is going to happen sometime soon.

I'm thinking that I may want to back the BDing down a bit... rather than every day, I'm thinking we may try for every other day leading up to O, definitely BD on O day and the day after. Maybe it'll concentrate his troops a bit more. Maybe.

That's what I was worried about, if you BD too much, the sperm quality is not that good anymore. That's what I've been reading. So I would probably not worry too much about BDing at least a day or two before O.

I'm also going to see if I can get DH to bd in the morning. I have been reading that there are studies showing that sperm concentration may be higher in the morning.

The only problem with that is that I would be waking up earlier then... and that will screw, no pun intended

, with my temp.

We BD mostly in the morning, DF can fall asleep anywhere, anytime if it's past 8pm!

IDK this is my first cycle temping so i haven't really thought about the timing to much but i think it will probably be every other day for BD'ing and then obviously on O day we will see how that works out.

Well, DH wants a boy, so we were gonna just BD day before and day of O, but since my cycle is wacky this month, I told him, YOU GET WHAT YOU GET AND YOU DON'T THROW A FIT.

When I even think I am fertile, we are BDing dang it!!

I see your point, but as long as we bd either the day before o or the day of o, then I feel like were good! lol

My last baby we dtd like 4 times that whole month, only ONE time close to o (day before).. and here we are! so I figure like even teh day before is good...

Actually I think this is outdated info. Bding every day is actually good for sperm quality. It might reduce sperm count for some men with low sperm count but it actually improves sperm quality because each time your guy ejaculates he is getting rid of old damaged sperm making room for new healthy ones.

We had a story on JM about this not too long ago.

Unless your doctor tells you that you shouldn't be bding every day I would say go for it.
