question about OPKs.

I have recently found that I am getting all + OPK results. I took 2...5 days apart. Both were positive, although they were different brands. Do ya think maybe I might get a darker one on the new brand when I REALLY have a surge, since it isn't quite as dark as the first brand I used? Only the left side is darker than the control. Here they both are. The strip is answer (today) and the other is $ tree brand (july 7th). They are from CD39 as well as CD43. I have PCOS, in case you were wondering about my long cycle.

There could be a few different explanations. One is that the two brands will give different results at the same time, like Answer would be negative when $Tree is posi, but Answer could get posi 5 days later (or vice versa). Another is that you could have caught the surge on its way up and then on its way down. A third (and very likely explanation considering your PCOS) is that your body "geared up" to O releasing hormones in preparation but didn't actually release the egg until 5 or so days later. HTH!

I think that when you have PCOS, OPKs may not work and may give you positives because your hormones are out of whack all the time. That is my guess, anyway. Hopefully, someone else will have a better answer for you

The second one does not look positive to me. The test line looks lighter than the control to me. The first one definitely looks positive and from looking at your chart it looks like you might have ovulated yesterday!!!! I can't wait to see tomorrow's temp!

Thank you all so much!! I hope that you are right about O'ing yesterday!! That would be awesome! I am excited to wake up in the morning and get that temp for everyone!! I always put in my temp on here like as soon as I get outta bed too!!

All the other answers are plausible as well. I have yet to see what OPKs are like for me. I do know that when I used them before (only 7 days) I did not get a + at all...also a different brand too.
I think every person PCOS or not has a different experience with them working or not working probably. The $ test was the first one I took in a long time...I was shocked at how positive it was!!
