Hi ladies! Patty invited me over from TTC (thanks Patty!) I've just started charting last month and I've been doing pretty well about doing it consistently.

DH and I just decided to start TTC#3 last week and I'm really hoping for a girl this time. (Of course we'd be thrilled with another boy, I just long for a girl - I'm soooooo out numbered in my house - even my dog is male ) So, while I'm not doing anything crazy in hoping for a girl (DH doesn't buy into any of the theories), I'm still wanting to try Shettles and monitor my diet/ph. So, anyways, I was disappointed to see that my temp didn't rise today, as I really thought I ovulated last night (o pains, cramping, nausea, etc). Which, if I ovulated yesterday, our BD from Thursday still had a chance, but it probably doesn't anymore, which means either we BD away tonight and screw Shettles and just pray, or we wait until next cycle. Grr.......I wish I had thought to DTD on Friday. Any suggestions?

I bet you are just about to ovulate. That spotting sure looks like o spotting. Trying to time things for a specific gender makes things a bit more challenging. I agree that you would be timing things better for a boy if you bd'd right now but I am not sure if you want to miss out on the opportunity of getting pregnant. Have you used an opk? If I were trying for a girl I would want to use an opk. If you aren't getting a positive yet maybe bding would still be good.

OH and welcome to the Charting board! I am so excited to see you over here!

Hi Christine! I've been charting this month, too. This board is really wonderful; all the ladies are super helpful at stalking our charts & answering my endless streams of questions. LOL
Maybe we'll be in the same DDC/PR again!

Thanks ladies!!!

OK, so I couldn't stand it any more and I took an OPK from Dollar Tree (I don't know how accurate those are) but it was negative. Here's my new question - is it possible I ovulated on CD 11? I really thought I ovulated that day. I did not sleep well at all last night - I was awake every few hours and laid awake from 4:00-5:00. Could that have messed with my temp this morning? I didn't get out of bed during that time, but with a neg (and I mean completely negative - as in nothing on it) I have a really hard time believing I haven't ovulated yet.

When I got pg with Dean, I ovulated early - on CD 7 I had an u/s and she told me I was about to ovulate. We DTD the next day and I was preggo that cycle. WDYT?

Hi there, and welcome to our board here. I don't think that having no line on OPK is right, I think you're always supposed to have some kind of a line, even if it's a faint one. Maybe that OPK was bad

one other question - I lowered the temp on our thermostat two days ago... would that make a difference in my morning temps?

I think it is possible that you o'd on day 11 especially since you have ovulated early like that before. You have an open circle on day 13 and you had what could be ovulation spotting on day 11 so yeh, I think you could have o'd on day 11. I think you will know something in a few days. Hang tight!

As for the thermostat, I can't really tell a big difference in my temps even when the temp in the house is different. I can still normally see a shift on my chart.

Sorry - I meant no line on the test part - the control line was there.

What does the opk do after ovulation? Does it automatically go negative?

Mine usually gets lighter until it fades away. I usually see a faint second line no matter when I test but sometimes there is nothing if it is towards the end of my cycle.
