Have you thought about how you'll tell DH/SO when you get your BFP?

BTDT - how did you do it with your other kids?

With Grant, I was sooooo nervous because he was a BC baby. I was out of town when I found out without DH. I went and bought a bib and rattle and wrapped it for DH. When I got home, I had brought his favorite meal from home with me and we ate dinner and I gave him the gift. He was super excited at first, and then said.... wait - how did that happen.

With Luke, I really don't remember how I told him. That pregnancy was soooooo emotional I think I blocked most of it out of my memory.

With Dean, I was so nervous, I made him come take me to lunch and I blurted it out right when I got in the car!

I've been trying to think of a way to tell him on this one (whenever it happens) and I just came up with it. DH has been reading my e-mails lately and it's been driving me CRAZY!!!! So, I decided I am going to put a digital test under the keyboard and send myself an e-mail telling him to look under the keyboard.

Well, since it would be my first ever, I don't have any previous experiences to pull from.

I did go and buy a bib last month that says "I love my dad". DH hasn't seen it... so I'm thinking I'll incorporate that into it somehow. FF is telling me my test day is on a Saturday which would put me at 14 DPO... so if it's this month... I won't have any time to myself to sort it out (IF I wait that long to test!). I guess I'll have to take whatever I'm gonna do into the bathroom with me. HA!

With my first baby Jonas, I was on the pill, so it was kind of a shock, I left the pregnancy test on the bathroom counter in the wrapper, and he went in to use the restroom, and I heard him unwrap the test, then a pause, then he put the test back in the wrapper, laid it back on the counter. We didn't talk about it for maybe 4 days haha!! The test just sat there! Then one day he said, "so...you're pregnant?" lol!
With my angel baby, I was going through RN school, and we were doing random UA's, which involve a pregnancy test, my teacher in school was yelling, "whose pee do I have?!!" haha!! MINE! We were using condoms religiously, I had a 6 month old, Jonas, and I called up SO immediately and started hysterically crying, "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN TO ME?!!!"

This baby who knows!

I haven't ever done anything particularly creative or exciting. With my last two since they were unplanned and not at the best time either, I was so nervous to tell him. I just wanted to get it over with.

His attitude is so much different now and since we are trying together this time I really want to do something cool. I have posted this before but I think I am going to make a moo cake and 5 mini moo cupcakes. I might include a test somewhere just in case he couldn't do the math. LOL.

Like Nikki this will be our 1st so I've been thinking of some cute way to tell DH. He treats our little cat "Nero" like a baby the minute he comes from work he picks him up for a cuddle, I was thinking of putting something on him saying "looks like I won't be the baby of the family anymore. Congrats DAD" or put a bib on him saying it...

That would be super cute!!!!

With El I made him a little card. On the front it said " March 2002 - Husband, March 2007, Homeowner" and on the inside it said "December 2007 - Dad" El was a BC baby, so he was very surprised. This time I'll just tell him.

I have about 4 ideas and I can't decide which one I want to use:

#1
This was my first idea. I have an old necklace box that fits a FRER perfectly. I have it wrapped up pretty with some of the baby dust confetti I got with HPT's from babyhopes.com. I planned on handing it to BF as a just because gift.

#2
Got this idea last cycle when I could have possibly had a father's day BFP (didn't happen, though). Get a nice, mushy "I love you" card. Something with a sappy poem on the front and just a short message on the inside. Write: "I love you. You're going to be a daddy!" and have the HPT on hand to show him.

#3
I love to crochet and have made blankets for all our pregnant friends. I have one friend that's trying to adopt and getting the nursery ready just in case so he knows I plan on making a blanket for her. I want to get some yarn and start crocheting a blanket and when he asks if it's for my friend, I can say "No, it's for us" (and have the HPT on hand to show him).

#4
Just came up with this one today. I plan on doing a pregnancy album/scrapbook anyway, so I can get a nice photo album/scrapbook (but not one that's obviously baby). Take a picture of the HPT and put it on the front page. Give him the album (again as a just because gift) and let him open it up to find the photo.

Those are my main 4 so you all need to help me decide which one to do (I don't plan on telling him until I get a VERY obvious BFP - faint line won't cut it)

I have thought about this so many times myself because I want to do something fun and exciting. His 3 other kids weren't planned, and he's almost more excited than I am at planning this and working towards it together rather than it being an oops and almost daily tells me he's ready for a baby

I was going to do a gift of sorts as well, but Tchelle, I LOVE your scrapbook idea and may have to steal it!

My biggest hope is that I can get a BFP before our wedding Aug 22, depending on my cycle length this month, I'd be testing right before the wedding and would love to tell him that day!
