My LP was too short this cycle. AF started today (rather unexpectedly, since I was hoping for a longer LP), making my cycle 26 days long. Now, 26-day-long cycles isn't a rarity for me. In fact, it's normal. But since I didn't have signs of O until CD17 (and had a temp rise CD19 to confirm), my LP was 9 days. That bums me out. I wanted an LP of at least 12 days. Guess I'll go buy some B6.

I really think you should chart for one full cycle before you decide that your luteal phase is too short. You are missing a whole lot of temps. You could have ovulated as early as CD14. Even though you had some ewcm after that it is hard to say when you ovulated with your chart missing so much information.

I think you should give it another shot next month and see what your chart looks like. Even if you guys are charting to avoid I think it would be a great way to get to know what your cycle is like and your own patterns. I also think that if you are charting and using a barrier method you will feel more in control of your body and less stressed.

Yeah, I agree, Patty. My last cycle's chart was HORRIBLE. Being that I temp vaginally, I'm going to have to wait until AF slows down before trying to temp again (too much ick, and the tampon's in the way). Generally, AF lasts about 4 days for me, and I can probably start temping on the fourth day, since it's usually just spotting by that point. I don't think that I'll miss much by temping right after AF, especially since my AF doesn't last long.

Anyway, my VCF hasn't arrived in the mail yet, but I'll be happy when it does! I'll be using that, along with temping, to prevent pregnancy before our wedding month.
