I know that when you become most fertile your cervix is usually high and soft, but how long after you O will it start to come back down to a lower position? I ask because yesterday it was high and firm (in my opinion, this is still my first cycle and I just started feeling comfortable enough to check it). This morning it was higher and more firm, now 45 minutes later, I can't even reach it. Do you think that's a good sign? Thanks!

I'm new to checking it too, but this month, it was pretty much the next day that I noticed a difference, but you could really tell 2 days later. I know that you are always supposed to check CP at the same time each day b/c it can vary during the day and you should be in the same position when you check it. I always do it in the shower with a leg up on the tub.

But in the beginning, I had nothing to compare it to, to tell if it was high or low, firm or soft. But as my cycle went on, you could definitely see the changes so it gets easier.

My problem is when it's high, I can't reach it, so I can't tell if it's soft & open or not, lol!

oh, and I should add, that mine was pretty high from CD1 til ovulation. High is good, but you need it to be soft too, which for me didn't happen til really close to O. And I was able to reach it then too, so it wasn't at it's absolute highest that it's been.

I did that though the other day Candace...in the shower it was low, so I was like, OK I must have O'd then...got out of the shower 5 minutes later and checked it again and it was higher. UGH! Possibly I was in a slightly different position when checking but still! Just do the best you can!

Well when I checked mine I used to check it twice a day but at the same times just to get an idea. The fact that you can't reach it sounds like a pretty good sign to me!!!! I would get busy. It sounds like you are ovulating or about to ovulate. Mine usually stayed high for about two days. I think with your CM and CP on your chart I would say you are very fertile right now and I would get to bding. I can't wait to see what your chart does tomorrow. Although, I suspect you are going to have to wait until the following day to see a temp rise but it could happen tomorrow. Don't freak out if you temp drops though. Sometimes it drops right before you see a temp rise.
