So I decided I really need to cut down my caffeine intake. I drink like 3-4 six cup pots of coffee a day. I usually have 6 large cups of coffee by noon. I really need to cut down. I think it is part of the reason I get so many headaches. Well anyway, I bought some half decaf/half caffeinated coffee. My day is going all wrong now. I normally have so much more done by this time in the day. I am suffering...

I have to get caught up on a few things but I will be a posting fool this afternoon or if I continue dragging maybe it will be this evening... Sorry I am trying.

WOW! You sound like my dad. He drinks nothing but coffee from the moment he wakes up until the moment he goes to bed.

I know today feels rough, but I think if you stick with it, because that's WAY too much caffeine sweetie, your body will adjust and you'll be alright.

It's like when I kicked my ciggies. It was rough at first because of the adjustment, but I made up my mind that it was for our baby and I've gotten through it pretty well.

Don't worry about being a bit off on the board... it's all good. We are more than happy to cut you some slack when you are making healthy changes.

wow, that's ALOT! lol. But good for you! I used to get my Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee every morning for a few years and if I didn't have it, I'd get horrible headaches. But I had to go cold turkey about a year ago b/c it was causing stomach problems. It was rough for only a couple of days, so like Nikki said, stick with it and it will get better! And you're not cutting out completely like I did, so it should be easier right? (maybe?)

I'm right there with you...but I made the switch to half caf when we started TTC. Each month, I'm slowly putting less and less caf and more and more decaf. Seems to work!!!

Good luck on cutting down on your caffeine. Take it slow for sure. I totally get headaches from not getting enough although I think it would probably kill me if I drank as much as you do! I'm sure everyone understands if you are not making a ton of posts today.

I don't think it was just the coffee. I am sorry I bailed on everyone yesterday. I did try to come post around 8 but I was so tired my brain wasn't working right. I went to bed pretty early today yesterday (apparently my brain is still not working properly). I am still not loving my life with less caffeine. I can only imagine how I would feel like if I went cold turkey. I really want to cut down though. I don't think this is healthy and I know I would have to quit drinking so much once I get pregnant anyway. (I know I should quit altogether. I have never stopped completely but I always cut down to just one cup when I am pregnant.)

That's a lot of coffee to give up! Good for you for trying so hard to quit drinking it (or at least cutting back). I hope today goes much better for you!!

Yea, you would have major headaches if you quit cold turkey. I have to have my coffee first thing in the morning during the work week. Weekends, I usually dont drink coffee, maybe just a Non-Fat Lattee from McDs. I do need to watch my diet coke intake on the weekends, that's when I can go overboard.

Oh wow that is a lot of coffee can you drink Decaf?

When I first found out I have diabetes I had to give up my sweet tea and I tell you it was hard for a few days. I would drink a gallon a day so I know how you feel. I hope that it is not to hard for you.

God I can't imagine drink that much coffee. I drink about 1 cup every 3to4 days. I hope the headaches leave you. Cold turkey from anything will have that effect on you.

Good for you for cutting down!! I was drinking about 2 cups a day and I cut it out cold turkey a few days ago.. and I had a horrible headache but luckily it only lasted one day. Now I barely notice that I'm not drinking the coffee. I hope the adjustment does well for you!
