Is anyone else trying to kick a habit while you are ttc? What are you trying to give up?

I quit smoking. There are moments where it's still a bit tough... but I'm really proud of myself. I just decided that I wasn't going to do it anymore and haven't touched a cigarette since.

I'm not really giving up a bad habit, I'm just trying to eat healthier and be more active.

It was hard... but the fact that DH and I did it together, made it much easier.

I am trying to cut back on my caffeine. I dont drink a lot, but I still want to get down to just one diet coke and one cup of coffee a day (which I only have one cup of coffee anyway).

Well with me finding out in Feb that I have diabetes I have been working really hard not to have any sugar or carbs and it is a struggle every day. I am doing good with it and have my blood sugar much more under control but sometimes I eat something I am not supposed to.

Congrats on quitting smoking I know that was hard.

Oh wow! My mom was diagnosed with diabetes and she was a TOTAL sugar hound. I was so worried for her, but she totally surprised me. Don't get me wrong, she still has moments where it's really tough... so I can relate what you're sayin'.

Thanks for the congrats on the cigs... it was hard, but I kept telling myself I want a baby more than I want a cigarette.

The hardest part has really been how much more time we have on our hands now. You'd be surprised how much time you spend preparing to smoke, buying things to smoke, actually smoking.... Once you don't do it anymore, you have a lot of time and nothing to do with it. That made us really edgy in the beginning.

Now we've started taking the dog for walks every night, DH will play Wii or 360, I'm either here or working on crocheting my baby afghan. I'm thinking about picking up some card games. I LOVE board/card games, etc.

I quit smoking as well, just finished up my pack and never touched them again. That was in May, I still crave them at certain times but for the most part I'm doing good.

Yay fellow former smoker Shancy!! Woo Hoo!!

I always told everyone that I was going to go through it so badly when I quit smoking, that was my prediction.

My actual experience has been the complete opposite of that. It was like once I made up my mind, that was it. I really think my motivation for quitting also has a TON to do with it.

I'm feeling so much better now too. I know I felt a difference when I was running down the terminal at the airport with my niece last Saturday morning!

Congrats to all those who quit smoking...must be so hard!!!

Ok, so does giving up Feta cheese count, lol??? I always get my fav salad from the place up the street, extra feta. Yum! So, I had to give that up while TTC but as soon as I get AF, I make DH get me one b/c I know I'm not pregnant! In fact, I wanted one tonight, but DH is picking up a chef salad for me instead. I know...deli meat isn't good either, but...

Sushi. OMG, sushi is my weakness and by far my favorite food in the world. But since you can't have that if you are pg, I am trying to avoid it altogether. I'm not going to lie though. I told DH that if I get AF this month we are going out for sushi.

And huge congrats to those who have quit smoking!!!
