What do you ladies think? Should I discard today's temp? It seems higher than normal compared to my other temps, and I did have interrupted sleep---but I never got up and I fell back asleep within 5-10 minutes. It was around 3:14 a.m. that I got up (looked at the clock, lol), and I took my temp at 6 like normal. Discard, or wait till tomorrow's temp to compare?

I'd leave it alone and make a note of it on your chart. I think it's probably accurate...I've done that exact thing before (even getting up to pee) and it hasn't affected my temp. If it's messing up FF's reading of your chart or something then you can always change it later.

Thanks, Lori. I'll leave it alone, then. FF has made my CH dotted lines, so I guess that that means it isn't sure of my O date?

I would leave it also. The fact that you pretty much fell back to sleep straight away, should mean that it's a fairly accurate temp.

As for the dotted line CH's... they are probably because you have documented Watery CM on CD 14 & 15 then you went to Creamy, Sticky and then back to Watery. So yeah... FF is probably not 100% sure.

If my temp stays high (as in, around 98.4), do you think that meant that I really didn't O until CD18? Does your bbt spike if your body thinks O was about to happen, and then go back down (like mine did) if it doesn't happen? So many questions with charting!

1. Re: actual O day... it's hard to say. Your chart could be showing a fall back rise, which is pretty common and nothing to really worry about.

2. I'm not 100% sure if your BBT goes back down if you try to O but then don't. I would think that it probably would, because the temp spike we get is from Progesterone which is present after O. If there's no O... then the components for a temp spike would not be present.

Has your fluid consumption remained the same from CD 14 to now? The reason I ask is because if you don't take in enough fluids, one of the first places that tends to show up is in your mucus membranes.

Thanks, Coley! You've been really helpful!

1. The fall back rise is something that I remembered Patty mentioning, but I wasn't sure if my chart looked like that or not. If that's what it looks like, then at least now I can be aware of that pattern, and look for it in future cycles.

2. That makes a lot of sense! I guess you wouldn't get a temp spike if you didn't O, so I probably did O, and that makes me feel better, because CD14, for me, is a perfect O date.

3. Now that you mention it, my water/fluid consumption was increased yesterday, since I drank a lot of Kool-Aid and spring water (which I don't usually get into my daily diet, since I drink a lot of sugary drinks). So, that's probably why my CM was more runny that day.

Thank you SO MUCH! You got me thinking about things that I would have never noticed, and my chart makes more sense to me now!

I agree with everyone else. I think you have a fall back rise pattern. I think one of the reasons it might be harder for you to see it is because you are using a regular fever thermometer. For example, your temp on CD10 that was 97.7 could have been 97.67 which would have made your coverline slightly lower. Your temps on CD17-18 could have been more like 97.74 which would be slightly above your coverline.

In either case I think your o date is marked right, especially when you compare it to your last month's cycle length. But, I think you will know more in a few days.

Yeah, I think time is really the only thing which will tell for sure. Also, my thermometer is a bbt thermometer; it just doesn't go to the hundreths degree. It's the BD Basal digital thermometer. Maybe I should buy a more sensitive one?
