Ok so I decided since it's CD 2 I am going to chart this cycle but I am not using OPKs yet because they frusterate me!!
So I am crossing my fingers I can remember to temp. I am setting my alarm for 5am now for temping!
I feel like if I did ovulate last cycle it was probably really late into my cycle.. like a few weeks after I stopped using OPKs. So that's why I am not going to use them but it'll be just to expensive to want to pee on something all the time.
I am putting all my faith into temping and other symptoms!!

Once I get around to it I'll put my chart in my siggy

back to charting!! I'm Nikki

If cost is your main issue, I'd recommend early-pregnancy-tests.com They sell OPK's very very inexpensively and I've always had really clear results from them.

If they just stress you out... then that's a horse of a totally different color. LOL!

It's the cost and the stress both I guess. Last cycle I never got a positive opk.. even when I felt positive I was going to ovulate.. I had all the "signs"...
Since my cycles usually last around 50 days I need at least 40. The cheapest ones at walmart are $17.98 for 20.. so I'd have to spend nearly $40.. and maybe that's not a lot to some people but I'd rather put that into savings or something, ya know?
If I can find some for REALLLLLLLLLLY cheap then maybe lol..

Welcome back charting I agree on opks, this cycle I've used up 27 of them and I've never had a positive result. So I will not be using them anymore either. I think if you follow CM, you should be able to tell when you're most fertile and try to bd a lot during that time, and then you can confirm that you ovulated by the thermal shift. Good luck

I agree, I never got a positive from them either, but definitely ovulated! And I could tell that just from CM and temps... good luck!

I totally hear ya. I think once you know the physical signs to look for, an OPK is just a secondary thing really. Your body will really tell you all you need to know.

I think I've liked them because I've had anovulatory cycles before and seeing that positive test was my one bit of physical proof that I was actually ovulating.

Glad to have you over here! I think charting is the cheapest way to figure out your o date but you can find opks for a lot cheaper than what you are paying. If you need 50 tests per month you can get 50 of them for $21.95 at Babycreation.com

Ziplock Bagged Ovulation Test Strips

I have ordered from them before. Their tests are the same as what you get from early-pregnancy-tests.com. I usually order from early-pregnancy-tests because I like to order Preseed and other stuff and it is just easier for me to get them all in the same place. I spend so much money on ttc stuff it's not funny. LOL.

That would frustrate me too. My opks are always unmistakeably positive so I don't have that problem. You may just have lower LH levels to begin with so it may be harder to pick up your surge. Maybe you could do an experiment and try different test taking times. You may find that you pick up your surge better at different times of day. I would play around with the time of day you are taking them and see if that helps.
