I lurk often, so I thought I would go ahead and jump in.

My info: Heather (34) married to DH Mike (35) with a beautiful 18 month old daughter named Meghan.

We have been TTC for about 5-6 months now. It is getting harder and harder because as months go by, my charts show things I don't want to see, or my body is showing symptoms of my age...but I will continue to try until my 36th birthday. I have given myself a deadline, so I guess my sense of urgency grows every time AF comes knocking.
A little background:
I have had 2 miscarriages. My follicular phase is often too short. I started taking Fertilaid a month or so ago. At first, I received AF very early.. then the next month it was better, but I began having hot flashes and extreme mood swings. I have no idea if it is due to the Fertilaid or my own body. Some months I do not ovulate at all. And lately AF has become shorter and shorter, and more and more painful.. as have my O pains. So this month, I am focusing on temping, charting and cleaning up my diet. The only supplement I take is B-6 now. I have an appointment with my OBGYN on Monday to discuss possible low estrogen or other issues contributing to my cycles and the hot flashes.

I really hope to give my daughter a sibling soon.

Hi Heather! I'm Michelle, my DH Jason and I are both 33 and TTC our first. I'm glad that you decided to post here. I hope that you'll stick around with us because the girls here are REALLY helpful when it comes to any questions you may have or offering a sympathetic ear when needed. I was looking at your charts and to me it looks like you have pretty good patterns there. You seem to have clear ovulation and your luteal phase seems to average 13 days which is good. I hope that your doctor will be able to offer more insight as to what's going on (medicine or your body).

Btw, do you mind if I ask what part of Texas you are in? We live in Ft. Worth.

to the board Heather!! I'm Nikki... I'm 34 and DH is 31. We're TTC #1 and finding it's not quite as easy as one often thinks.

I'm glad that you've decided to come out of lurkdom and join in.

I'd have to say that I agree with Michelle, your charts are looking pretty good. You've certainly got a nice LP length, that's for sure!!

I really hope you will stick with us, because I'd be really curious to hear what your doctor has to say. I do hope you'll KUP!

I look forward to getting to know you better!

Hi Heather. I looked over your charts and they all look biphasic to me. I can see where you ovulated pretty easily on most of them. As for your follicular phase, I am not sure why you say it is too short. Your follicular phase is the first half of your cycle and it can really vary from month to month. If it is short it is just because you ovulated early which is not something to be concerned about. If you were talking about your luteal phase (your second half) I would be concerned but there is nothing wrong with ovulating early.

I just turned 36 so I understand why you are feeling like you are. But, I think your charts are looking good. I looked at a lot of your charts and I was wondering if your bding info is on all of them. There were quite a few charts where you didn't bd that often close to your o date. I think it gets more important as you get older to get lots of bding right around your o date. I try to bd every day during my fertile window. It doesn't always happen but I have increased how much we bd because I think my eggs are older and don't stick around as long.

I hope you will stick around with us. Let us know what your OBGYN says.

Welcome to the board!!!

Welcome!! I hope your appt goes well on Monday, KUP! I agree with the other ladies, your charts look great! You only had one short LP, the rest looked completely normal in length.
The ladies on here are great and supportive, so never be shy to ask a question. We are all charting stalking feins (sp?)

Hi. Sorry for the disappearing act. Work got busy, and I haven't been able to log in much. The appointment went .. eh, ok I guess. My main concern was the hot flashes and mood swings. She said my LP length was fine except that one month where AF showed up early. She is bringing me back on CD3 for a group of tests for estrogen, etc. I don't know all of them, but will post when I find out. So, I go back on sept. 9th-ish depending on when CD3 happens.

And she referred me to an RE. I wasn't expecting this yet. But she said based on my age, family history (sister and grandmother started menopause in their 30's), miscarriages, hot flashes, mood swings... etc... I fit the criteria for a referral under my insurance. She said based on my symptoms that an RE would be more beneficial to me at this stage than her office could be.

So i go back early Sept. for the tests. I am supposed to book an appointment with the RE for late Sept. She said if my tests come back good, then I can cancel the RE appointment if I chose, but if my tests are good, then she asked that my DH have a SA done.

I am doing some googling. I really didn't know I would be seeing an RE at this point.. or at all. But I read on the Fertility Clinics website that they treat infertility as well as hormonal issues, menopause transition, abnormal menstration, etc. I just always assumed it was for infertility only.

I did pick back up on my temping. My daughter is having a bad case of the 'i refuse to sleep thru the night' and temping has been hard. But i think we are on the recovery side!!

Thanks for the warm welcome.
