You don't think that releasing more than one egg would look anything like my chart, do you? Could that be why it looked like I O'd, then didn't, and then two days later a temp spike again? I don't really know anything about what multiples should/could look like on a chart, so I was just curious.

You know I have NO idea but I was thinking the same thing about my chart this month.

Do twins run in your family?

Here's an interesting read...DR JONAS METHOD - Gender Selection, Contraception, Natural Fertility, Miscarriage, Birth Defects

Scroll down to: What is spontaneous ovulation? Can I ovulate more than once during my cycle?

There are other places where you can read about this as well. I actually found this stuff yesterday when JM was down. Apparently it's becoming a more common belief that women can and likely do ovulate more than one time per cycle.

As to whether or not twins run in the family, I was a twin, even though my twin was a stillborn. So, that counts, right?

And thanks for the links, Michelle! They're interesting reads!

You're welcome! I was just amazed by that story and as I started reading more and more, I was shocked to learn that so many more doctors believe this to be true.

And sorry to hear about your twin. I have a friend who lost one of her twins just over a year ago. Such a bitter sweet situation.

That's all right. I know that this might sound terrible, but I have never felt sad about it. I never knew him/her, so I could never feel as if something were taken from me. (The baby was so badly deformed from my mother's condition of excessive amniotic fluid that the sex wasn't determined. My mother just always felt blessed to have me, and I came out perfectly healthy.)

In any case, now I'm curious to see if there are any charts out there which show some sort of evidence of multiple ovulation. I don't really think that mine is, since my body wouldn't have had enough time to mature new follicles---and if it were the case of twins, the eggs would be released within 24 hours of one another. I found an article about it on FF saying that you probably couldn't see a twins ovulation on your chart.

I would have to do more reading on this. I would think that if you had released an egg that your temp would go up and not down. When the corpus luteum is formed after you ovulate it starts releasing estrogen and progesterone which is what makes your temp go up. So I would think that your temp would have gone up and then up again instead of up and back down. BUT, I really don't know that much about what charts look like when they release two eggs. I would start browsing the chart gallery on FF and see what you find.
