Just an FYI on board issues (data base errors, slow loading, etc)

Okay so you probably noticed we've been having problems. We made one update that keeps the data base from locking up. We were having problems with the data base locking up when too many people tried to post at the same time. That was fixed but now we have a NEW issue. Fixing tech stuff can be difficult so please bear with us. The tech team has been working on this day and night.

So the last update I had was that our data base is using up its max amount of memory and then restarting itself. Which is why the boards seem good and then all of a sudden time out or give you a data base error. We think some of this is because we have some VERY long threads on JM (with like 15,000 plus replies to them). When they load they use a lot of memory. So anyway, tech team is working with MySQL support on how to fix this. We are working very hard on this but it has just been a frustrating problem.

Just another FYI. Make sure you read the announcement at the top of the board. We are going to have more downtime today. Hopefully this will be the last of it!

I guess I'll have to find some other way to procrastinate from doing my grad school paper (and everything else I don't feel like doing today)...lol. Facebook here I come!
