Did you do something creative? How did he react?

Well, he went to the store to buy the test that morning at 6am so he knew I was testing. I showed him the test and he didn't see the line, and said "oh, we'll try again next month". Then I told him look closer, he said he saw a tiny line but didn't believe that meant it was positive...I had to google positive pregnancy tests and SHOW him faint lines to get him to believe.

I wish it was creative, but no. It was a lot like Lori.. I was 8dpo and there was the faaaaaaiiiiiiinnnnnttteeeeeesssssttttttttt line and I was trying to decide if I was seeing things or not. So I just took it to him and said, "do you see a line?"

Not too exciting huh? lol

Well, my SO doesn't live with me yet (we're working towards it) so after testing positive at something like 6am, I had to wait until 4pm for him to get to me after work! I was wracking my brains for hours, wondering exactly how to word it but nothing quite 'right' would come to mind. I decided to play it by ear. So ths is how it went:

He arrived, and after the usual hug'n'kiss greeting he noticed my aptop and grbbed it saying 'Oooh, I just wanna look at a car I'm thinking about buying'

So I sat next to him. He starts looking at this sporty, 2 seater convertable number. He asks me 'So, what do you think, it's nice, eh?'

And then it came to me... I reply 'Yeah, but... you can't fit a baby seat in it.'

He froze for a second. Then glanced at me sideways. Then back to the screen. Then looked at me sideways again. I said 'Why are you looking at me all funny?'

'Why are you saying funny stuff like that?!'

'You did say let's get your coil taken out and see what happens. Well... it's hppened!'

*completely shocked face* 'You're pregnant?!'

He then had what I would describe as a mini anxiety attack! Got very flustered and stuttery, was clearly lost for words. This lasted all of about a minute until he jumped up, grabbed m into a hug and said 'sorry, I'm just really shocked... (like, duh... I suppose when he said 'let's see what happens' he didn't expect it to happen so soon! (took two months to fall)) He then swept me out to dinner and kept suddenly grinning and saying things like 'Do you think it'll be a boy or a girl?'

All in all, I'm happy with the way it went. his inital reaction may not have been 'movie perfect' but once he regained his composure he was great. And continues to be great. He's picking up a doppler for me tomorrow as he wasn't with me last week when I heard the hb at my antenatal appointment... he wants to hear it

When I saw the line forming, and I started having my little heart attack, I ran into the computer room and set it on the desk, where I stared at it for a little while longer. Then, when I no longer had to squint to see it, I ran into our bedroom (at 6 in the morning, mind you) and before landing on the bed, started yelling, "Jimmy! Jimmy!!" He didn't even stir, except when I plopped down on the bed and said in his face, "JIMMY!" He opened his eyes all groggily and said, "Hmmm?" With my heart beating like a hammer, I was like, "I think I'm pregnant!"

His eyes popped open, then! He was like, "Really??" And I said, "I peed on a test this morning, and I think there's a second line! Will you come look at it?!" And he was like, "Yeah," all urgent-sounding. lol

So we rush into the other bedroom and stare at the test together. He has to rub the sleep from his eyes a few times before squinting at it and saying, "Yeah, I do see it.." And that was when I practically started having a panic attack. lol!

I never imagined it going like that. I always figured something a bit more romantic, like presenting him with a baby T-shirt or something---not jumping on his face while he's sleeping!

I sucked - I just called him and told him over the phone.... then we went to the store and bought a pregnancy test and I took it and showed him the results. He believed me but he wanted to see the actual test.
