Alice's post about the tie dyed pads got me thinking. It's weird because I remember when cloth anything was just kind of out there. Nobody did cloth and being green was just unheard of. Now, everyone is going green or trying to be green and if you aren't well then you want to be.
So how green are you? Do you recycle? What do you do to conserve? Do you use cloth pads or will you use cloth diapers? Do you think it matters?

DH and I are not real green people. We conserve energy and water, but that's about it.....

We're pretty good about it.
All of our lightbulbs are compact fluorescents, we keep the thermostat at 77, we keep the lights off in rooms that aren't being used, we fill our own water bottles... rather than buying bottled water and we use the cloth re-usable shopping bags.
I don't know about the cloth diaper route though... Haven't decided on that one yet.

I use cloth pads, pantyliners, and the diva cup for my AF. I have a collection of cloth diapers i got on the cheap for our baby, whenever he or she chooses to arrive. We recycle, and try to conserve electricity. We also don't use any pesticides or weed killers on our lawns, because we live so close to a great lake. It really doesn't have much to do with being green, it just makes sense. It saves money, and i happen to think reusable products work BETTER. I will not give up my bleach though lol.. no matter how toxic.... i use clorox for eveything!

I try to be as green as I can manage. When I'm in Canada, it works fine but since DF is not much green, I do what I can. I got couple of reusable grocery bags few weeks ago to have while I'm here, but he wants nothing to do with that lol. We have energy saving lightbulbs, water heater is on low during the summer, we both recycle so that's good. One thing, in Canada we can recycle all plastics but here it's only #1 and #2, makes me sad when I have to throw away things like that. I get all non chemical cleaners, experiment with baking soda and vinegar a lot. Everything that goes on the skin is organic and no chemicals. I spend a lot of time in stores reading labels haha. Most of the food we buy is organic too.

I try to be as green as I can, but I'm sure I could improve a lot. We recycle, buy recycled, avoid plastic water bottles and fill our own instead, buy organic and use natural cleaners. My goal is for my next car (many years in the future) to be a hybrid.
As far as AF goes, I haven't converted to cloth pads. I've considered it because I do think it's important, but it's a leap for me. I have an easier time seeing myself using cloth diapers than pads.

I am not very green. I am trying to change my evil ways but I like convenience and being green seems to require more work. I do want to be more green and not just more green but I want to start making more foods from scratch and being more of a molly homemaker kind of mommy, which I am just not. (I don't want to change who I am though. I just want to be a little less of a TV dinner mommy.)

@ Patty!! Maybe you should start out with your crockpot. That's about as hands-off from scratch as you can get. Chuck some meat & veg in there, add some liquid, turn the bad boy on and walk away!!
