Ok ladies... I'm starting to freak out a little bit.. lol.. Its the first cycle TTC... so I have a few questions... plus an reassurance that its normal to be totally freaked out would be helpful
What prenatal vitamins are you taking, and why did you chose them?
Also how did you get over your bad habits, or are you waiting to get preggo to ditch them? (I have a massive diet coke and caffeine addiction.. I have no idea what I'm going to replace it with!!!)
Thanks for being so awesome!!!!!

Its ok to freak out, its normal!!!!
I take Wal-Mart brand prenatals as well as folic acid (I would recommend you get some of this too).
I have tried cutting back my caffeine. I still have 1 cup of coffee in the AM, a diet coke with lunch, and MAYBE a diet coke in the evening.
Looks like you may be gearing up to O!! I would start BDing girlie!!

I haven't had the freak out moments yet, hehe, but I'm sure it's pretty common. I take Materna prenatals, they have 1 mg of folic acid in them. Once they are done, I'm going to switch to more natural version since this one has weird chemical ingredients. My doctor told me to get them. I don't have any habits that I should avoid, I don't drink coffee or alcohol so I don't have to worry about that. I'm not sure what you could replace it with but maybe cut down to 1 cup of caffeine a day?

Hi, I'm on my 3rd and freaking out so yah, totally normal! lol
I take CVS (Pharmacy brand) prenatals. My doctor has prescribed some before but she said there's really no difference, only that some of the more expensive ones may have stoll softeners in them to help with constipation from the extra iron, etc. I take the CVS ones because they are cheap and they don't bother me in any way (tummy, etc...)
Oh, and the caffeine...I never drank a lot to begin with so I am just sticking with my 1 or 2 cokes a day. I think I read sticking under 200mg a day is good, although that seems high to me but maybe you could find something online about it. I bet if you slowly ween of it, you won't notice it too much! GL!

Whew man do I feel better... I've been taking the prenatal vitamins from costco.. Nature Made brand I think... but I was going to try and get some better ones... but I might just stick with those!!! I'm really hoping I won't want Diet Coke when I get preggo.. bc it's not the caffeine I worry about but the crazy substitute sugars... are they still saying not to use that stuff during pregnancy? lol... Thanks again... glad that I'm not the only one freaking out!!!

Yeah... Freaking is pretty normal stuff around here.
I take Twinlab Prenatal Care. DH picked them out for me and he's the vitamin/supplement Guru. So if he said they were good... I knew I could trust it.
The bad habit I had to give up was smoking. I thought it was going to break me down, but it was surprisingly easy. Once I made up my mind that I was doing this for my future child, it was like that was all the motivation I needed.
Don't get me wrong, there are still moments where the thought pops into my head. We went to Karaoke with some friends that were imitating human chimneys and that was a little tough. I can handle one or two being smoked around me... but 4 hours of smoking? That was a bit much.

Just popping in to say i had a big diet coke caffeine problem too...i have switched to caffeine free DC and drink a lot more water now...its been really easy.
I have been at this a year and just gave up the caffeine so good luck to you.
Also, i take nature made vitamins...folic acid, prenatals and b-stress complex.

I take store brand prenatals. I am still working on my terrible terrible terrible coffee habit. I have mad a lot of progress. I started buying the half decaf kind. I want to wean down to one cup of day by the time I get pregnant but I am still working on it. I had to do this gradually because I get withdrawal headaches when I don't have my coffee.

I hear about the withdraw.... I get it if I don't have my diet coke in the am... Trying really hard to trim that down... but maybe one a day won't be too bad? Lol.. but I gotta get away from the diet part.. it's got the bad artificial sweetner in it...

Hi there! I am currently taking prenatals from GNC, which I like, but I'm going to see about getting ones from The Vitamin Shoppe. (The ones from GNC say you have to take two a day and I feel like it's a total rip off LOL) Anyway, I was taking the ones from Walmart...pink label, OneSource or something like that...ended up gaining a ton of weight with those so I switched.
As far as bad habits, it was easy to be careful about what I eat and drink because I'd just remember what I'm doing it for. But I am lucky in that I don't smoke or drink a lot of caffeine to begin with, so that helped.

I got a prescription for a prenatal with an iron booster in it while we were TTC since I'm often anemic. Freaking out is definitely normal. We were TTC for over a year and I freaked out most cycles at least a little.
As far as bad habits, I kicked them well in advance. It was just a lot easier than trying to kick them while pregnant. Especially since withdrawing off of something like caffeine can make your usual early pregnancy headaches a million times worse. I'd really recommend cutting back slowly so you don't have the usual problems. Also, keep in mind that the artificial sweeteners in things like diet sodas can be huge no-nos. Most are okay in very careful moderation, but they're used in so many things that it can be hard to know just how much you're getting. KWIM?
