So for us married gals share your wedding disaster stories or stressful wedding moments?
When dh and I got married we went to Gatlinburg. We didn't plan everything out perfectly but we did plan it two or three months in advance. We wanted a simple little wedding because I don't do girly weddingy stuff well. If I had any girly helpers I might have done a real wedding but I just didn't feel confident to do a whole big thing and really I wouldn't have had but a few people to invite anyway.
Okay skip to the wedding disaster. We get to Gatlingburg and go to the marriage license place and GUESS WHAT I don't have my freaking driver's license with me. I left it at home in Georgia which was too far of a drive to go back and get. So here I am totally freaking out. It was only me and Kelly, my dad and my brothers, my MIL and my BIL there so there wasn't a lot of people coming BUT STILL. So I asked the marriage license people what to do. They called the Georgia police or whoever does the driver's license, maybe the DMV (I don't remember now) to see if they could fax over my license. No such luck. So I am getting into total all out panic mode. Dh and I had a huge fight where he reminds me of how incompetent I am. (He still does this regularly because I still do dopey things like this. He carries my credit cards and stuff on him and keeps up with where my driver's license is and stuff now because I am just bad about losing things.) My dad and Kelly were trying to calm me down and tell me it wasn't the end of the world if it didn't happen today.
I felt terribly embarrassed and was going to be crushed if my big day didn't happen. So anyway eventually at the very nick of time a police officer went with me to the marriage license place and verified my identity based on the description on my driver's license and I was able to get married. We were cutting it close to get to the chapel on time but we pulled it off.
It made for a very stressful wedding day though.
