Ok, I've been trying to be faithful about checking CP & CM internally, but I'm going to have to stop. Although I know that it will help me a lot in determining O, the consequences just aren't worth it yet.
No matter how careful and gentle I am, I always end up with cramping after I check. I can't wear tampons but for a few hours every now and again nor can I use latex condoms, so I should have known that I'd have trouble doing this every day. One day I went to my doctor for a checkup and he asked me, "do you use tampons during your period?" and I said that yes, I do. His response, "I can tell. You need to stop using them. You are red and inflamed and have all the telltale signs of skin irritation from tampons. Only used them when you have to, like for swimming and even then, only for a few hours, not a full day". Who would have guessed that my sensitive skin wasn't just on the outside??
So I'm going to just stick with temping and checking CM externally. Now that I'm setting an alarm to temp I'm thinking that I'll get more accurate temps and therefore a bit more accurate chart. Wish me luck!

Aww.. Michelle, I'm sorry to hear that!!! I can't imagine how that must be! I would die if I couldn't wear tampons!

Thanks, Jensma! And Jen, it really, really sucks to not be able to wear tampons regularly. They are so much, cleaner, to me! But I'll take a pad over the risk of infection ANY day!

Michelle- Have you ever considered using natural mentrual products? Many people, especially those with latex sensitivity, are sensitive to the harmful chemicals used to process tampons and pads. You could use the diva cup as a substitute for a tampon, with none of the irritants. HTH

I have problems with cramping after checking internally too. For me it usually goes away after an hour or two so I don't worry about it. I just try to only check once a day. But, if it is bothering you I would probably just skip it too.
I don't check CM internally anyway.

That's so wild! I've never heard that before. But I totally agree, if it causes discomfort, then I would skip it too.
I guess I'm a Rough Tumbler! I can poke around and check all kinds of stuff and never have any trouble. HA HA!!

Alice, I've read about the cups, but I'm not sure about that. There's something that just seems weird to me about putting a "cup" there. Besides, I have a friend who uses them and had a few unfortunate accidents with hers at first because it kind of suctions itself inside of you. Yeah, she tells everyone she knows to make sure that the first few times you use it, you are staying at home!
Patty, I'm glad I'm not the only one that cramps, it sucks that it happens, but I thought it was only me because I was too sensitive or doing something wrong.
Nikki, HA HA HA! "Rough Tumble" LOL Now, when are you peeing on a stick?!

I have cramping from using Instead cups so if you are super sensitive you might have problems with them too. I don't think it is the chemicals in them. I just think my body knows something is up there or something. I don't know but I always have cramping when I use them (I use them for a fertility aid and not for AF so I am sure it is not AF cramping).
